I never re-set the A/C amp.
With all the talk, I think its only for certain VIN numbers.

My A/C is always the same.

What map and mods do you have again?

Thanks for the clarification. I thought I was doing it right per the instructions. I'll get to play with it more this weekend. Hopefully I'll make it to exploring the "Stage 2" maps.

Worm just needs to up his map one. go to 1b if he is on the base.

I have the RB Ram duct with Revi.

Mine was perfect fuel trim at idle.

According to instructions I did not need to change a thing BUT...

When you looked at A/F under load and Full load same problem as worm.

So I'm at 1b and it works. Will go to 2b next but need to watch the bottom end to make sure it's not lean.

2b should put me near 12.5 then I will need some fine tweaking.

After that I will go to the full Mod version for the track to check out the stats.

Gotcha, had it backwards. Got confused on the wording in your email. Thank you for the clarification.

MM 2004 MT NA v1_0.ptm - start file, no trim
MM 2004 MT NA v1_1a.ptm - adds 2%

Why would you go with a leaner map (the b series) if your already lean?

It's the lag...when you hold it up so its in your vision and go WOT down a straight road...you can see the AFR drop below 13...into 11 from what I've seen...its just not an analog gauge and so your simply stuck with the sample rate they provide...

Yeah I figured that out when I did the b and my LTFT went from 5 to 8...heh

Trimmed it back out and about to move to 3.0...

I'm lurking in this thread waiting for Christian to surface. Is Cobb taking a bribe from Evil Twinkie to hold back on 4 ports? Us poor old 4 ports need love to. I've bothered Jeff way to much and have come to realize he can only work with what Cobb gives him. Come on, summer is almost here and this car deserves a better summer than last.

Where does the "P0171 System too lean ON 2 Fuel system" DTC trigger?

Yeah, it appears that the CEL masking is only partially working. Some mask and others do not.
I put in a "ticket" for that.
Probably not a big deal, but Cobb understands that this is one of the primary reasons why people want the AP in the first place. So, it will hopefully get resolved immediately.

I also noticed that I didn't turn off everything in all of the calibrations.
There are a few that I intentionally left in place because they are useful (things like ESS failure, TB problems or CAN errors), but there are a couple of emissions things I missed.
If you get codes, just post them up and I'll see what is going on.

sorry if asked before...

I am still waiting on my AP however I had a question for MM!
From reading past post I perceive that it is recommended to have the BOV recirculated to work with a turbo set up!
I also noticed that MM turbo 8 is vented to atmosphere with the AP! How did you do it?
Is there anyway I could keep my BOV to atmosphere as well?
Or that is a NO NO....

OK, I just logged my car with the CanScan with the Cobb Stage 1 map and my car is indeed running as lean as hell. So my theory on it just being the AP display is completely wrong. I'm flashing back to stock for the time being.

Cobb stage 1
15.0 at 6000
14.8 at 7000
13.9 at 8000

Jeff - I'm going to e-mail you a log I have from last week on my car with the stock calibration. It has throttle, rpms, airflow, IAT, and afr on it along with some graphs and analysis. Can you please take a look at the data and see if it compares to how you did the fuel maps (as your stage 1 map looked as lean or leaner in real time as Cobb's on my car)... maybe this can help us out who are running lean?

...everyone say a prayer for my cat...

I will be posting a video shortly that shows how the recirculate works in action, how the ap numbers compare to a wideband and how the ap runs going into boost. Unfortunately my other car has a flat. So I'm in a waiting room sitting around for them to patch the tire.

so likely up within the hour...

I apologize for my recent absence, I have been overseas collecting data and teaching tuning classes. We will shortly have the ability to release software that works on the AT vehicles. Although, we have not had sufficient time for testing our AT calibrations for the RX-8 so you would need to work with a tuner that has the software in order to get tuned calibrations. Would this be acceptable?

As far as the dongle communications are concerned. We have used that dongle design with great success for years now and I do not believe a connectivity issue exists, although we are going to continue testing. I believe that the reported failures are due to keying off the car while asking the AccessPORT to monitor data. If the ECU loses power during any communication process, the dongle must be unplugged and plugged back in since the device communicating to it (the ECU) has effectively been powered down. Does this make sense? You cannot ask the AP to talk to a device that is getting the power cycled to it. Please take into account that the power is cycled to the ECU when you start the engine. Like with most vehicles, all power is cut off elsewhere to allow more current to initially flow to the starter motor. Please take that into account when you are working with the AccessPORT. Try to not have the device in Live Data mode as you cycle the power, otherwise the communication link can be compromised.

Take care,
Christian.
