Swapped injectors... I had to troubleshoot that problem for months. I guess it's a common mistake during rebuilds, so much so that Mazda put out a bulletin about it. Glad you guys got it right away.

Just fine. I have a base tune in place. The car drives well at light load. I'm trying to put some miles on it and make sure everything has had a bit of a shake down before the real tune. With as much new stuff that went on at once I really want to be comfortable with everything mechnically before the tune. My next big step is to get the car back up on jacks and make sure everything is still snugg and not showing signs of stress.

Sensible approach ... although some issues will only surface once you actually make a reasonable amount of boost .

Yep, all the best hardware in the world is useless without a good tune.

On anything...

You might think some of the softer ones are fine...but they tend to bend enough that they don't move freely...and you loose compression...and get blowby and then things start to get strange.

I had problems with a very intermittent miss that we finally figured out was from an apex seal that seemed to hang up every once in a while because it was a little curved. Why it didn't do it all the time I will only guess. Ended up loosing a rotor from that one.....

You can 'get away with' a lot more . On stock apexs you break the angle tip with so much as a sneeze.

Stock seals FTW! 20,000 and counting. Although I have never pinged (that I know of).

I have been at 10psi since finalizing the tuning actually, only recently (like last month) have I dialed it down to 5-7psi since my turbo has started smoking occasionally. I think 10psi is pretty safe, but I won't venture above that, I'd like to drive my car for while and enjoy it.

You have done well to not have a ping at some stage - why your experience qualifies OEM seals as 'the best'
