Hoss -05's build thread
and i was looking forward in finding out what the heck happened to that R3.
At least it will be put to good use now--it will be really sweet. Drop the trans and diff in yours Hoss--it will make a LOT of difference.

I was as well good buddy but sometimes you have to take your lickens where you can. I am picking up a new house in a few months and dont have room for all the cars.
I have a series two transmission already installed. I will be running a stock S1 manual diff ratio. I did not want the short final drive from a R3 in a FI car. It should prove to be a Great combo. I will swap out the diff cover as the R3 one has more cooling fins.

Your car is turning into a "Frankenstein".

At this point I feel like it is all finally pulling together I am crossing my fingers in hope that i don't have to get anything else worked out with the turbo kit and the install is smooth.
BTW should happen in another few weekends. If anyone wants to give me a hand let me know.

Love the pic.I am parting out the R3 and moving some of the body parts onto the S1 otherwise just continuing on with my build like planed nothing crazy. You have seen way more pics of my general build stuff then most on the board. I think the R3 stuff will turn out really cool and set it appart from many other builds.
Wanna buy the rear end gear and pinion?

the s2 trans and s1 diff does make for a good ratio--thats what I ran. But you will find that 6th gear will be better with a little more 'Oomph".
Course out there in Texas with those long roads a tall 6th gear would be nice too
Are you going to take your dash out and put the s2 one (with your dash display) in? I like the way the dash in the s2 has more rake to it. Maybe even the stero would work? I dont know--different can bus systems and all......
Dont forget to swap out the R3 subframe--it is hard foam filled
Very very nice.

I'd be interested in the S2 starter if its still running strong/available.... between that and my BHR ignition that should be here today hard starts should no longer be an issue I'm hoping *fingers crossed*
Some of the suspension parts if you decide to sell or keep are beefed up compared to S1, and will also fit.
Front Upper and Lower A Arms
Rear Drive Shafts left and right.
All Rear Suspension Links (camber, lateral, toe, etc)
Rear Wheel Bearing Hub - Link Hub
Do work. We got on the brackets, the right side tail light is finished (BFH and a cut off wheel FTW), and we got the Racing Beat exhaust on
