Hoss -05's build thread
I kind of feel that way sometimes 9krpmrx8... It seems like I'm running more boost then the 'usuals' around here. But also, my engine is built up more than most so I'm not sure what to think. Doing good so far----crossers fingers.
And as far as being able to spool up, I know there have been times where I have bogged the engine down going up a hill in 4th gear and I look at my boost gauge and surprised to see 10-11 psi at very low rpm. I will have to try what you said when I get a chance to give you an exact comparison.

I would be interested to see what your (same as mine) turbo does as well .............. do eeeet !
I have three boost gauges. One at one LIM service port (PLX), one at the other LIM service port (prosport), and the HKS EBC at the nipple on the top of the UIM behind the TB.
Leave the one on the UIM , fit one just prior to throttle and one just after the turbo , you will be very surprised at what you see (especially under part throttle) . That plus it's actually good information.
This is what I was referring to.

I also have three different boost guages... not on purpose. One on the GB, a plx set up and one on the boost controler. I will set up my PLX and GB post throttle plate and apexi BC as close to the turbo as i can get.

Update: Got my RB none resonated midpipe on. Car is not louder. The tone is a bit deeper. Also drove it into work for the first time in a year. I work on base and stalled in front of the guard. Yikes glad he did not ask questions.
Yes in Singapore. But a machinist buddy of our is making an alternative that he designed with a separate vacuum block, etc. But it will be a while, he is moving and dealing with some personal stuff right now so it's on the back burner.
Got a link for it ............. I really hate that plastic thing . It's alway a dissappointment when someone wants to look at my turbo install with no turbo to look at .
The one from Singapore is okay but required some machine work to get it perfect in terms of the mating surfaces, it was pretty rough. And even the grooves to use the stock gaskets would be better and something our friend did for another guy who has it and Hoss may go that route if he has any issues, but Sifu and Gregs have ran this without issue so it might be unnecessary.

His nitrous bottle mount,

His nitrous bottle mount,

There was a time when I was going to build a manifold out of ali tubing.
I never finished it but did make some flanges and a swedge tool to shape the tube ends. I wonder if anyone has an interest in these. They are about .75 thick and 6061.

That's really not what I meant, Judging from the photos your machine shop friend could whip a set of these out over lunchtime. I don't know where the programs are for these anymore. It's not that hard if this is the way your going. The casting is alot nicer looking and less work once the tooling is done.
Problem with the Rx8 is there is no demand. Tooling pays for itself when it's a Chevy your building. But it has to be a labor of love to do it for the 8.
Not saying there isn't any love out there, just machine time costs.
I havem't been able to buy any CNC equipment with my love. I think there are some women out there who can but then they would have to love me in order to get it on my floor.
