Really beautiful engine Jesse. Though, you know, NASA just might be calling you to borrow that turbo to launch the next space shuttle... aHAHAHAHAHAHAHA But, I kid, I kid... Did you want a twin rotor from the get go, or did you consider a triple rotor ever?

ok... so i got my car back. they ran some tests, replaced 2 spark plugs, changed the oil and everything seems fine... except...

THOSE RAT BASTARDS F'KING SCRATCHED UP MY BABY!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Sorry, had to get that outta my system. LOL)

There are what look like two small, but deep tool marks (all the way to the metal) on the lower passenger side door that I KNOW FOR SURE were not there before, as I always do a quick inspection before and after dropping any car at any dealer.

<Sigh>

With all the stupid issues I've had with this car, for the first time ever, today I actually really felt like I should've gotten the z4 instead, which is the only other car I was considering at the time I was shopping... I've only had awesome experiences w/ bmw dealerships when it comes to service. And, I guess you get what you pay for...

<Double Sigh> Detrich is pissed.

Samething happens to me everytime I take my car into service. I always get it back with a new scratch or some blemishes. Thats why I try to avoid going into service as much as possible. I still don't know if I'm taking my car in for the recall, never had any problems with my car other than flooding it once which was my fault. Anyways I might make it to the meet this sat, don't know for sure yet.

lol... the turbo isnt all that big! i mean its big, but you should have seen the turbo i almost bought..WOW! talk about BIG! but for the power i wanted, this turbo was absolutely perfect!

now, about the 20b 3-rotor
*sigh*well, my initial budget for this project was gonna be $3-4k, just a rebuild, hybrid turbo, and some little goodies... but after i decided to go w/ a full stand-alone ems.. my budget skyrocketed to around $12k..... this was well after i had already bought most of the parts to rebuild my 13b-t... if i had initially know what i was gonna spend, you bet your but those pics would have been of a 3-rotor! now in the future, when this motor pops, i think im just gonna buy a 20b, and swap it in... since i can still use my turbo, and alot of the other parts ive bought, it wont be nearly as expensive this time

Hey Casey - they do have it in blue. They were out of the 1/8" so I didn't get you any. Figured anything bigger would be ridiculous

I did one wheel just to see....here is a sample

I also got a new oil cap - waddya guys think?

Mmm... I like your black volks a lot better. But, I'm assuming you're getting these just for auto-x'ing? The oil cap is nice, but then again almost anything's nicer than the cheap yellow plastic one... :P

Thanks for the moral support... I'm going to go back tomorrow and RAISE FREAKING *** HELL to the service dept manager. The good thing is, I did get the general manager to see the damage tonight when I picked up the car. And, he said they will take care of it... So, we'll see if Alhambra Mazda can redeem themselves...

Detrich is still pissed tho...

Hope ya guys read that "Marbles in a can sound" thread.

It really doesn't sound anything like that.

They are refering to 3250 to 3850 RPM and around 7250 RPM

I definately can hear that sound sometimes.

I even tested it and can repeat it.

Anyhow Swoope says the recall flash fixes that.

Unfortunately it's 20 degrees cooler now. I really haven't had a chance to check it out yet......... But

It appears that sound is gone. I think I heard it once but it was very mute.

Will let ya guys know for sure this Saturday.

Can't really tell but the recall flash seems to pull better. Any reset or flash makes the car feel better.

I just reset mine a couple of times and finnished up at the track last week.

So, I know how the car pulls. While the feel and memory is fresh, I will try to evaluate the new flash tomorrow before she gets use to cruise control on the freeway to the meet on Saturday.

Umm..... how many more Mods do I have this time. 2 One Engine bay, One interior.

Yeah, these are just for autocross, you'll notice my Black Volks are hiding behind the Enkeis in the car shot (first pic).

I totally hear you Zoo, as we're all frustrated by these stupid dealers and their utter incompetence... Like I mentioned, my original 1st choice was to get a bmw z4, cuz I've had an absolutely great ownership experience w/ my 3-series over the past 8 years. But, that changed after test driving the 8- plus the 8 was going to cost around $5k+ less than a comparably equipped z4. But, I really didn't expect the body paint on the 8 to be so soft and that the Mazda dealers so completely incompetent.

As far as the G35... Autoweek just previewed the newly redesigned 2007 G35 sport coupe. And, they totally raved about it.

I hope we all get our issues resolved adequately soon... Hang in there.

I think somebody needs to clean their engine bay... The oil cap looks pretty cool though, just not sure what it's made out of. Hope it doesn't get as hot as those Aluminum rotor shaped caps.

Nice looking AutoCross rims.
