You spelled the place different! Do you mean Yucaipa?
|
How many people usually go and what is the age range?
|
well this is only the second one, and so far only myself will be in an 8, the rest are in 7's. and age range is 15-90.
|
Darn it, we just miss the age range. I have one friend who is 14 and another who is 91.

you know.... i think we can make an exception for you :D might even let you go down to something like 7-100. :D Just washed and waxed my 8 for saturdays meet. so she should be all pretty! |
Ha I thought no-one around San Berdoo liked RX-8's or even mazda's for that matter. I just moved to Tucson from Berdoo a month and a half ago.
|
Had a great time - some great pics are posted over at the West Forum at RX7Club.com.
Inland Empire 8's need to watch for the next meet and join the fun! |

Inland Empire 8's need to watch for the next meet and join the fun! thanks ricco! yeah, it was fun! thanks for coming, you really made the day funner. I can personally vouch for Ricco, Ricco is a great driver. never got stupid, but had no problems keeping up (the few times i got to really open it up) anyways, thanks again for coming Ricco hope to see you next time. (time, date, location pending) :D |
I think the suggestion was to give Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) a try. This is a very technical and challenging road. I am going to invite Robert Baltazar (from Glendora, in his Black 2nd Gen) to lead this (with your permission) as he knows this road very well.
This route, like our drive last Saturday, can be weather dependent. Will make a point of keeping up to date on the status of GMR and let you know. The 3rd Saturday in January (the 15th) works really well for me. Thanks again for a great time last Saturday! P.S. For lunch, I highly recommend "Legends" in Upland (hamburgers, etc) or if the group wants Mexican Food again, Casa Jiminez in Upland is good, too! |
Hey do we have to drive an 8 to attent? I'm moving back to berdoo tomorrow and I'd love to see some of them up close, but all I have is my gay pony :(

no you dont have to have an 8, but a rotary is highly recomended..... (whats a pony?)
also we (friends) like to try and do other runs in between the "rotary" meets. if you are interested in hanging out more then once a month, feel free to let me know. Thanks ricco for the advise. considering it is a LONG weather dependant run, mabe we should make it kinda of a tenative thing untill that day. kinda like we did last time. mabe have a shorter not so weather dependant rout as plan B. :D just a suggestion, talk to you all later! P.S. i guess i should post all of this on the RX-7 site also. P.S.S. below are a few pics from the last run we were talking about. (look how pretty the silver and yellow8's are!!!) |
I would of loved to be there... it's just so far away :(
Glad you all had fun :) |
where are you from?

Rancho Cucamonga

Hi Speeddemon!
Yes, I've met Krazie Kave at a Rancho Cucamonga Quakes game this year. He's a good guy! |
I wish I could've made it to the last run, unfortunatly difficulties in getting back to San Berdoo arose, so hopefully I'll be around for the next one.

I made the ride on Glendora Mountain Road from Upland to Glendora on Saturday, to refresh my memory of the road -
Well, it's an awesome drive - but not one that should be done FAST in a group. I took it in my RX8 and I don't think I was going faster than 40 MPH at any point, and it was still a highly entertaining drive. Lots of the road is two lane (barely) without a center stripe, and NO shoulder. Lots and lots of "S" turns, many of them blind, so long following distances and "reasonable" speed is indicated. Also, there was a pretty strong presence of the Sheriff's Dept. at a couple of key spots, complete with radar guns and binoculars. Even so, it was a highly entertaining drive - I still say the earlier the better, to minimize the presence of other traffic. Jill |
Ya know if you guys are having another meet anytime soon I have 2 weeks of freetime starting tomorrow. I'd love to hang out with everyone.
|
a good place to eat in Rancho Cucamogna is Legends Burgers It's 4 minutes away from the 210 freeway. maybe we can meet there for lunch and then go on a local drive.
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...%20Restaurants Riccio and I were thinking of doing a photo shoot at the star in Upland (dont know if you know about it) but it's a huge star on the local mountains. if you guys wanna join... let me know. (preferably rx-8's for the photoshoots.) |

Jill what ever you think Riccio, we will be in your teritory this time, so we are pretty much going to trust your better judgment. god thing is we still have plenty of time, as it is almost a month away. Just let us know on both RX-8, and RX-7 club web sites. :D |
I dont know if you all have heard of "Donut Man" (a donut store in Glendora off of lone hill ave)
they serve very tasty donuts that are oversized. we can possible meet there if wanted... then drive through GMR. (Just a suggestion) |
