Zoo....my brakes have been squeeking for a long time now. I now have over 40 thousand miles on my car, with the stock pads and rotors. When I got my last oil change, just a couple weeks ago, they said I was getting close to needing a new set. They said "close". As for oil changes. Romero Mazda offers an "express lube". The only gimmick here is you actually have to say "I want the express lube". guarantee 30-minute oil change or your next is free. No joke.

As for the brakes..... this is due to the brake dust buildup getting into the little groove of the brake pad. when the ...........
EDIT:
boss came in......
It is a common RX-8 problem, when the brake dust fills this groove, they start squeeking. if you were to take the pads out and clean this groove out, the squeek will go away. I had ONLY 3,000 miles on my car, and the brakes were squeeking.... how embarassing.
cross drilled and slotted rotors cured that problem!

oh yeah, and see Y'all Tomorrow!

My car is almost at 5k, but it has been squeaking for a while now. So I know I should get a quick oil change but do you think the brakes are fine for tomorrow. I found a sitter so I'm in. Hooray!!!

zoo, you will be fine. We'll draw you a picture at breakfast of what is happening with your brakes. I'm good at drawing pictures on napkins
I remember when we had our caliper painting party at Casey's that my brake pads were caked with brake dust. I banged um on the ground and knocked it all out. Squeeking went away for about 2 weeks, then back again. Oh well, just something I have got used to by now.

Looks like a big group for breakfast that should be nice. Yup, it is on the south side of the freeway. We will be there from 745-830. Come for breakfast, come to hang out, or show up by 830 to join the caravan over to Pirate City Tattoo.
