I'm sure your car will produce a nice amount of power but i don't know what kind of curve you'll see.
It's still an amazing build though!
do any high HP rotary's have a nice power curve?

None of the seals, or especially seal tips/edges come close enough to the port for me to be worried about. And yes, you're right, the exhaust port size is my main concern/issue. If this setup doesn't net me good results, I'll be going with a setup like Mazdatrix with the peripheral rotor housing + side port side housings and custom manifold...
If top end is your goal i think you'll have a big smile. I'm more of a balanced build guy, driving 500hp out of a 1.3l engine around a track would be impractical
I didn't express myself well enough I think: my concern with the huge ports is that of side seal wear\corner seal troubles etc. Big empty spaces aren't the best.
Again then, with the goals you're setting i'm sure that you would be disappointed if your engine lasted more than 20.000miles, lol!

Nope, that' why many rotary racecar tuners\builders prefer to sacrifice overall power figures to keep the cars driveable, even on 13b rew units!

over 500hp? I'm going by the dyno chart on my local rotary shops wall at about 650hp from memory. looks like mount Everest and only goes to 5000-6ksomthing rpm from memory.

Ahhhh, yep, you're right, the bigger the hole the bigger the potential problems with parts sliding over the hole...thx 4 clarifying that.
Hahaha, 20.000miles???...I hope that is a typo.

You're right except for drag car applications...oh, and land speed applications too...like mine.

Untouched. I'm taking a slightly different route with my setup, no C16, the motor will be tuned for high boost on straight methanol.
Low boost street driving will be pump gas with the AIS dual nozzle water-meth injection.
So I "shouldn't" have any problems with that sucker melting.

I managed to melt mine , and as a result noticed some very positive gains on the dyno !

Yes

Check out the comparison between boost @ whp past 7000rpm on the two higher dynos .
Only difference : melted divider on centre port ......

Where did the divider end up? Was it just lodged in the exhaust manifold center pipe?
My first guess is that it would have blocked the exhaust flow entirely coming out of the center port. Very very interesting.

That is not the point - the loss of the divider was not a factor when it blew. There was no sign of any damage from crossover .

It was rattling around inside the sleeve. The divider further up the sleeve was still in tact and prevented it from escaping .

Dang, I've got an idea...completely remove the bulky center insert and weld maybe a 1/4" thick divider to the actual exhaust manifold so that it protrudes outward and into the center port, effectively acting as a divider, but a much leaner one. I think I might just try that, need to talk to Elliot about this.
Thx Brettus for bringing the center exhaust sleeve issue to light!
