Much appreciated 9k!

Yes, whether it will be for an all out attempt at 200mph or just to get some shake-down passes in...I'll be there next year.

Some really sweet work going on.
Upgraded oil coolers?
pop off windshield washers? Lol.
OD
Much appreciated OD!

I'm having a front under-panel made out of thick gauge steel that will be shaped in a way to promote smoother airflow under the front and to counter lift.
The rear will have some sort of custom diffuser that will start at about where the stock gas tank "used" to be and continue under the mufflers to the rear.
No upgraded oil cooler installed yet, waiting for the IC piping to be completed and then I'll install them.

hehehe! Yep, definitely doing away with the side-view mirrors and windshield wipers. Rear spoiler stays for now...

This is the first time I've heard of it.
I'll check it out and see what it's all about though.

What front end are you going to be running? Fan on the bottom of the intercooler?

You may also want to go with a 3.9 ratio differential for a mile long top end run.

PS: Now that's a turbo.

Totally gutted stock front end one for now with aluminum reinforcements...fits like a glove. I personally have always liked the genuine Mazdaspeed unit so eventually that's what will replace the stock one.

A 3.90 was what I had in mind initially but after I plugged in the numbers the 3.90 would only get me to 192MPH with my tire size, trans gears, redline of 8K, etc.
So I'm going with a 3.636 which should be good for about 206MPH with my setup.

I had to completely redesign my set-up to move the cutout further back near the rear tires to keep all the heat off it.

Also where are you getting the lower 3.63 gear from?

You're right, those are very nice units. Thx for the heads up, I'll know what to do now if/when I do run into the same problem.

I'm looking at either doing a '06+ Miata diff swap with a 3.636 R&P set from miataroadster.com or a conversion to an 8.8, all sorts of R&P's available for that.

I think you should max out the current setup before we try that " other " thing we've been discussing...

Thx.
Ultimately my goal is to have fun...but don't get me wrong, the fastest Renesis in the world title would be nice too though.

Thx pdxhak!
None of it would have been possible without the talents of Elliot @ Turblown.net and Jimmy @ royalmuffler.com
Their work is truly second to none!

Since you are doing the Flying mile only--then you are not really worried about lag? right?

Little hint if you can use it-----the under panels from the S2 models do a hell of a good job smoothing out the underneath airflow. The 09 front end was actually designed to not have any lift at high speeds (we can thank Speed Source for their input on this)
The front under tray also has a built in half circle "spoiler" to cause a low pressure point to help evacuate the engine bay heat.
An auto 3.3 rear end and the S2 trans with the taller 6th gear should allow you to get where you want to go?
redlining at around 8K----- i hope?
OD
Thx for the info on the under panels/tray, sounds like you've done your homework OD.
What is the 3.3 auto rear end out of? I can't seem to find that as a match for any year/model RX8.
Exactly, 8K.
