how much boost are you planning on running? Everything looks great, but jesus that turbo is a little excessive for a renesis I think...regardless though, great setup!

Dirt_Nasty 11-16-2010 11:29 PM

Looks awesome can't wait to see more.

Thanks.
Excessive? Nah.
As for boost, I'll go as high as I feel is safe and practical given the feedback I receive from the motor during the tuning process. (EGT, knock, AFR, est. CCP, etc.)

BigTurbo74 11-17-2010 01:46 AM

Haha nice vid. Keep up the good work.

Brettus 11-17-2010 02:42 AM

keen to see what you can do with this setup.

TeamRX8 11-17-2010 09:40 AM

Bigger is pointless if you can't get it up

09Factor 11-17-2010 10:08 AM

This is such weaksauce! :Peace:

Ahahaha! steam powered RENESIS...LOL Dave.

TeamRX8 11-17-2010 11:14 PM

UnlUnless you intend to run race gas or E85 at a minimum it will be blowing steam soon enough ....

JETS3T8 11-17-2010 11:36 PM

Spot on as usual Team, C16, 11.5 NGK plugs and meth inj...btw- that cat setup is ridiculous

Mawnee 11-18-2010 10:47 AM

Should be interesting ... :suspect:

Brettus 11-18-2010 03:04 PM

So - this turbo is capable of 900whp+ on a piston engine .
Anything less than 500whp on a rotary will be a complete waste of time - is that where you are aiming ?

JETS3T8 11-18-2010 11:19 PM

Right, upwards of around 500whp is where I need to be at for 200mph at The Texas Mile...among other factors that I'm currently addressing such as safety equip., suspension, aero, gearing, etc...

angeljoelv 11-18-2010 11:24 PM

WB's like big turbo's

Brettus 11-19-2010 12:12 AM

Wow . What are you doing about gearing ?

Your turbo qualifies under "monster" though...your turbo on left, my turbo on right...

Might want to add cooling to the list. Depending on your intercooler placement, cooling becomes a big issue and the RE-medy Hi-Flow Water Pump and Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator will probably not cut it. Think secondary radiator.

Some under car paneling to reduce drag and lift would help.

olddragger 11-19-2010 11:20 AM

nice bro--nice. Big guns.

500hp on a side port engine?
Since you are doing the Flying mile only--then you are not really worried about lag? right?

Little hint if you can use it-----the underpanels from the S2 models do a hell of a good job smoothing out the underneath airflow. The 09 front end was actually designed to not have any lift at high speeds (we can thank Speed Source for their input on this)
The front undertray also has a built in half circle "spoiler" to cause a low pressure point to help evacuate the engine bay heat.
An auto 3.3 rear end and the S2 trans with the taller 6th gear should allow you to get where you want to go?
redlining at around 8K----- i hope?

I hope to have an even better option for underpaneling. The S2 panels are good but I think there is a lot of room to improve.

I always thought the 09 front end looked a lot like the Mazdaspeed front bumper.
