Anyone give me a hand narrowing down this noise. It happens only in gear under load, in any gear. Sounds like a trashed pilot bearing but it only happens when the clutch is engaged. My TB is brand new.

Axial flow shifter and syncro saver installed

Is there any reason to think that shutting off your engine on and off while in grid at autocross (coolant temps around 210-215F) results in greater heat soak and subsequently harder on the starter/coils for the next hot start then running it continuously with the coolant temps up this high?

Can't really hear anything but if you have an upgraded clutch it could be the clutch . I get a noise under load between 2000 and 2600rpm .................

Is the flaming and no sarcasm rule a one way street here?
I believe you were advised to check your coils, did you?
That was sound advice.

How about...if I **** with something and it doesn't work any more....the odds are good that that had something to do with it
Go back over the install and confirm that everything is hooked up properly

Yes, this is what I was installing. I put new coils in and no fire. Went over so many things I could have done wrong and still no fire I have given every bit of info I could and no help. I figured the blinking CEL which means misfire, BEFORE an engine start might be able to get me some help. I was hoping maybe its happened to someone before, and I could get some insight.

Seeing how my engine runs beautifully aside from this issue of installing new coils, I dont think that will happen

By the way, I post a thread because I can not find any information on this, and I get a few helpful responses and then dick head responses that are irrelevant after two days of maybe getting a little insight or just a little help if someone has experience with something like this happening. So in getting ******** remarks I decided maybe its a dumb question, and I should dumb it down a little. Btw, I love this site but for a forum called "Troubleshooting" people can be incredibly rude and unhelpful. So I figured if I got the way of explaining and giving EVERY bit of information I could, and keeping things spelled correct, gramatically correct and just give every step in order to maybe find a solution I'd go the dumb way.

I have and can't figure it out, I have over and over, and cant get it to fire, fortunately I've found someone helpful trying to help me elsewhere. As your response is kind of smart-*** like. it actually is good feedback and i appreciate it, but I have done this and can not find anything out of place

Alright guys, that's enough. Jay, there is no flaming in this thread, even from you on them for your opinion of them. Antagonizing people isn't going to keep you shielded and I find myself inclined to just wack the lot of you. Everyone else, don't take the bait.

I never care who starts it.

Remember that everyone is an individual, and also presumably human. We have our good days and our bad days, people we automatically can't get along with and people who we find are best friends, and on top of that entirely varying levels of ability to communicate well in text AND interpret written responses that have no inflection, tone, or body language. Shrug off stuff, both what seems like stupid questions and what seems like snarky responses. That applies to everyone.

Jay, you are getting good advice, let us know how much progress you make on it and what results you have.

When people give serious advice in a way that isn't talking down on someone who's owned 2 cars and one happens to be a rotary. And I just want to learn as much as possible and be educated on my car and what to expect. I'm trying to get out the word, because I can't find an answer to this or find any similar situations, so hopefully by getting that out I can find someone whos had the same experience and give me a solution to the problem. People who are serious in trying to help are greatly appeciated, but people instead criticize and talk as if I'm below them because I haven't owned the car for 5 years. Clearly, I'm frustrated, but I do think highly of this site. And I think if I have a problem people are happy to help, but like I said I get rude replies. If I have already encountered a problem and found the solution I will definitely be far more willing to help others, especially if they are trying to get their car running on a budget and need it to work! Sorry for this slander ^^^ I figured not much offense would be taken to it, seeing how this is the stupid question thread, none the less I do apologize, and definitely look to be an active member in this community and no I have no ambition to argue with every body. Thanks guys.

A more serious question to you though RIWWP, since it is in your bio hopefully you can help. I know a blinking CEL is always a misfire. But, what would it mean if it is blinking before you start your engine. Like turning the car to on, its solid for about 10-15 seconds then starts blinking. And this being on an engine that wont start after changing ignition coils.

Thanks man, I dont have much experience under the hood, but I figured coils wasn't a bad place to start especially since I had it step by step, I just don't know what I did wrong, if anything I don't know. Basically, just seeing if anyones had the same symptons after, and how they sorted it out. I had a pretty gross injury to my leg and lost my good job because of it, so I don't have the outrageous money people want to work on these, plus I want to learn as much as I can because I really do love these cars a lot.

Have you tried changing out the key fob battery? Did you do something to the immobilizer system?

EDIT: Do you have a means of having the code read? If you have the code, post it (if you haven't already)

I'm not sure what you mean by key fob battery, do you mean to my actual key to the car? And I don't think I did anything to the immolizer system I'll look into that. And as far as the code goes. No I haven't been able to check it, I don't have the reader and haven't been able to go anywhere for that but I'll see if someone around has one.

lol Okay, in order to give a less ignorant answer, I looked those up and my key lights up, pops trun, locks unlocks and then engine turns over so I don't think its that. And same answer of the engine turns for the immobilizer system. I don't think I did anything I only unplug the battery and took the airbox off and did the coils.
Thanks for the input so far. I don't think its any of that though, it just turn over and over and over and no start. RPMs dont move or anything. Tomorrow Im gonna double check the wire harnesses to the coils. I'm gonna try to get a code reading though

You know I always wondered this too... Turn the key to "ON" (engine off) you have a solid CEL, wait about 10sec and the CEL flashes 7 or 8 times at you.

I have no codes, only thing not working on the car is the DSC/TC. Abs works fine.

Anyone?

I did a quick search and easily found quite a few posts about this issue.
Possible pending codes.
