Jeff, I just got my AccessPORT and did the re-flash today. The base map was pretty much spot on as my idle STFT was -0 almost solidly and bounced between +/- 1 at most. The difference in throttle response and "feel" of the car is tremendous. As soon as I pressed on the accelerator I thought "wow... this is totally different".

Two biggest things it resolved for me were the awkward throttle response of stock (a nudge on the pedal is the max throttle and further bogs down with stock) and the bogged 3rd gear. Even with stock first and second gears are pretty aggressive, but I've always felt the car immediately bog down in 3rd gear. I don't know if this is the stock map going way too rich or what. These complaints are completely resolved with the AccessPORT. I can't vouch for how much if any power was gained since I'm NA, and don't have a dyno comparison but the power delivery feels crisper.

I'll continue to watch my LTFT and A/F to see what changes can be made, but already I'm very happy with the performance increase.

MM- you sent me a map a while back that you made with a some pics i took. you told me to try it and see if it works ok. I light of my new cel problems and the freak nasty smell of fuel i'm sucking down will uploading the map do anything to lean out my car seeing as I have the P0031 CEL. I need a little help with the headaches i'm getting while sitting at stop lights.

I just read-up on a Texas DOT form and it mentioned that some counties require emission testing along with the annual inspection.
Did you have to go through the emission testing too?
Would be incredible if the AP can mask a mid-pipe THAT well (not to mention the gas smell... kinda had to "mask" that).

No I did not have to do emissions testing here...however as of Sept 1st 2005 every car will undergo emissions testing in Texas...ha

Hence why I went before I moved to CA...

I just got my car emissions tested before I got my AccessPORT in, but I am curious if the OBDII test will show up any different with a AccessPORT MM map loaded. If I have a midpipe and the map is clearing that CEL how would it show up at emissions? I'm still not sure if I'm going to midpipe or try to turbo with a cat...

As far as the license plate... I had mine on until today and finally went out and removed it. If the cops have a problem with it, I still have the plate in the trunk.

We know the AP will mask the O2 sensor, so I'm not worried about that.
But its had to justify that your car should pass emissions when you pull up and the whole garage fills up with a gas smell.

take it on a hot windy day and hope they've got fans blowing outward? lol

I'm seriously considering a high flow or catless midpipe for my AT. Haven't decided yet, but I think it'll be a good investment... and it sounds like its fairly easy to swap the stock midpipe back on come inspection time.

So I went driving around after work tonight watching my AFR. When should I start really collecting this? I know it takes a few days or more to get the LTFT to sort itself, will the AFR adjust a lot during that time? Most of my AFR values seem good, but I'm getting a few high 11s under heavy load naturally aspirated... so I don't know if I'm running lean in spots or if its something the LTFT will sort out as it figures out the new map.

Otherwise the car feels great, honestly I think I did gain some power especially at the high end, because I was going a bit (but noticably) faster at the same rpms in 5th on the way home.

been going 1 days and my base map had stft sitting between -1 and 0...although it took about 5 seconds of idle for it to get to that point is this normal? My AFR is good 14-16 and 13 under higher load but i get mid 12s to sometimes 11.8 at WOT....i need to get some numbers logged and email soon i think....

A few days for the trims. You find that eventually they'll be fairly consistent if you repeat the same driving over and over. Remember that after the first few miles you'll want to watch the LTFT rather than STFT, as the computer will begin building a long term trim from that short term data.

This sounds -exactly- like mine, so I doubt we are in bad shape. I hit exactly 11.8 at WOT, -1/0 STFT during my initial run and AFR is high 12-high 13s under load, I hit 20.3 on throttle out.

i doubt 20.3 is accurate. That's just what it says when there is no fuel reading.
