Cobb AccessPORT Discussion
Ahh, thanks for the clarification MM
Nothing like totally separate systems that are dependent on each other to make things overly complicated. It might be easier to hijack and modify the signal from the ABS system than to figure out how to reflash it for those wanting speedo adjustment. Anyway, this is really getting off topic...

There is an analog line that carries the speed pulse, too (in addition to the CAN info).
Maybe there is a way to scale that with a PLL or something.
I don't know.
I guess if it is important enough to someone to run under/over sized tires, then they will figure it out.
To me, the 1% or 2% error that occurs from plus sizing is not any more significant than the 1% or 2% that already exists in the system.

A lot of machines that measure speed uses a proximity switch to calculate pulses.
The computer basically knows that X pulses = X mph/ipm (speed).
And they usually allow a few percent tolerance.
Never looked at the RX8s sensor, but my Ford F150 had the same setup when I had to replace the speed sensor.

^^DAMN... I'm too slow at typing... of course people are bothering me at work too.
I should have refreshed the page... MM answered it a few hours ago...

You won't receive anything until the unit ships.
If Google said your transaction was complete, then your order is in and will process in 10 days or less.
When I ship, I send an e-mail with your tracking info, a copy of your invoice and instructions.
Thanks!

Is the e-mail address you used not good?
In any event, there are two questions I have for you before I can ship PLEASE e-mail me at ap@mazdamaniac (.com) immediately!
Kind of unintentionally.
A "glitch" in my Google Checkout is allowing anyone to order one, even though it is set-up to block sales outside the US.
If PF-Racing has a US spec RX-8, then it is no problem (one of the questions I have for him). If not, then I can't guarantee that it will work.
The other issue is shipping.
My first Scandinavian customer used their own fright forwarder.
If I have to ship units directly to Scandinavia, I need to collect the higher shipping cost first (the other question I have for PF-Racing).
EMS to Europe is, to put it bluntly, a bit expensive these days.

Ahh! There you are!!! I've been e-mailing you frantically since you ordered it and you haven't responded! (spillarkivet@gmail [dot com])

I`ve just sent you a email, but I can answer you here also
My car is a US-model, I bought it from Florida, USA, so the Accessport should work fine
And I just paid the extra dollars you requested.Sorry again for the delay. I shall check my email more often from now on
Excellent!
I was really worried there that you would end up with something that you can't use (and I'd end up paying for it!).
Can you send me an e-mail (to ap@mazdamaniac . com) from whichever e-mail account you use most often?
we will need to communicate again in the near future and I don't want to make you chase all of your accounts to get useful info.

Sorry for all the trouble I caused you.
One of the reason why I bought a US model, and not a EURO model, is because then I will have the same type of car that all the guys on this forum have. Any cool gadget you guys here are talking about will work on my car

K.. Coils swapped out. HOLY CRAP! The car is seriously twice as fast. Just have to take my midpipe to a shop to get it welded, then I should be able to do some datalogging for you, MM. Sorry for the delay, these things take way more time than they should when you work 8-5 and everything around closes at 5...
