Good luck, slash128 has heard nothing from turblown, hopefully you get your stuff back. With all these fitment issues I think turblowns shop car must be a wrecked car.

Maybe he shouldn't have welded the intake to the turbo, with a coupler you would have more flex.

Yeah welding the compressor inlet pipe was definitely not a good idea IMO. I think a bolted flange with a gasket would be a better idea. A coupler in that location would be a band aide though, and it would not last long that close to the turbo manifold. The engine mount bracket is more of an issue.

I had a silicone coupler on mine for 3 years....when I took the kit off it was pristine...so as far as I have seen it is not a problem...I would be much more worried about it being hard connected from a vibration and breakage point of view

True story. After I made my fuss on the forum a few months back Elliot finally agreed to fix the outstanding issues with my version 1 kit. He gave me a list of parts to return, basically all the major components. I shipped those parts at the end of July. Now he has my parts and does not respond to me. Here it is nearly October...

I've not posted lately because certain individuals assumed it was lack of skill on my part to get the kit installed properly. I figured I would let things ride out with version 2. If it was indeed a problem on my part then I would learn something. I truly hope the best for Hoss, but unfortunately as things have unfolded he seems to be experiencing the same problems I had.

I'm done at this point. Attorney general and consumer affairs is involved. I have retained legal counsel. Credit card company has given me a credit back. A Google search for "turblown low mount" results in this very thread as the first hit. BBB lowered his grade to "F" after he did not respond to them either. This should make a great reference for those researching...

I expected better from him.... wild *** cycle we're in. Jeff gone ... CRH keeping a low profile ... Elliot not responding ... and Scott fabricating a nice *** kit.

Man.... I am not sure and cannot agree with anything you said. Scott has had a nice kit for more years then I have owned a RX8. That dose not mean I am willing to put down serious cash when i think of what has transpired in the past. The pics of Elliots kits are way more done and also look bad ***... anyway I dont need to go on with this rant, most people that have been around understand.

Elliot actually responds to every email I send. Not always with everything I ask or want to hear but he responds. I think this is mainly do to me not threatening him.

Is this a wild *** cycle we live in.... hell yes! I dont think its a bad thing. I hope we can all plow forward and grow from our mistakes building a better future for people rather then beating each other senseless with the banter.

heh ... Elliot responds to every message I drop him too... picks up the phone, says hi, all that good stuff.

just cause I think Scott has a nice kit, doesn't mean I'd buy it either!

anyway, i've got no skin in this game. move along, nothing to see here. simply would like to see this resolved like everyone else.

Glad we have an agreement. I just think your view point was skewed when you take a step back and look at the big picture... but it is fun to look at the short time once and awhile..

Truthfully. I could get all my issues with my low mount kit taken care of locally. It scares me to send all my parts back to Turblown, But how is anyone gonna get better at what the do if they cannot learn from mistakes? IDK man. I agree with my friends that I should get it fixed here but I am going to send my parts back into Elliot and let him fix these issues.

Not sure what was construed as threats. The unfortunate thing is it had to get ugly. I hope the best for you.

Doesn't seem like it had to get ugly at all, hoss isn't having the same issues getting a hold of the guy.

What is BBB?

Exactly why I barely post anymore ... A local member and I decided to pool our resources, get proper tools, a welder, and do everything ourselves ... it won't be pretty ... but we will see

From the Turblown site:

All units are hand built on Rx-8 Chassis in house ensuring best possible fitment.
What a load of bullshit.

There are NO returns on this unit. Customers are responsible for return freight for modifications.
Now that is what I call standing behind your product.

Hoss-05 your just playing nice so you get your **** back or fixed. so what he responds to your emails, that tells me he is purposely not responding to others. some of us need simple communication, a Hello, an email, a progress report. that is not how you conduct business, even if there is no progress, you report no progress!

it only gets ugly when there are no other options left! Elliot backed himself into that situation as had previous people. these are the consequences of failing to respond to people who have paid. you can't just be a dick to one customer and expect more.

its clear Elliot doesn't learn from his mistakes, he just makes different ones, if your smart Hoss you will get your stuff fixed locally and right turblown off.

Slash128 you realized that the product and supplier where bad, and took the necessary actions to minimize the loss. there is nothing wrong with that!

Speaking of the turblown system differences, the version 1 motor mount bracket requires the motor mount tab to be cut off. This opens up the seam on the mount, so not sure how long it would last... Compare the difference between this and the one in Scott's kit. Scott's bracket looks beautiful, well designed AND executed.

Well, i guess pics of the 0.1 version of my passenger side motor mount need to be posted.
Just as a simple comparison to what was at first to what has been done with current mounts.

I see 2 possible areas with scott's mount that could bend from stress. However only time will tell.
The motor mount Elliot built for my top mount has been holding up the keg for 3 yrs 2 wks and 5 days. (yes, i have a dated timeline when parts were mounted)
Time to take a look. i'll check back in on Sat with pics.

Time already told, the engine mount bracket flexed as soon as weight was put on it and it hits the compressor inlet pipe (causing the turbo to manifold V band to not seal) even if you try and clock it. This was with version 2.0 which requires the tab to be cut off as well.

Bummer man. I am also wondering how long the mount itself will hold up. Cutting the tab off opens up the seam between the upper and lower have of the mount. With vibration I am concerned it will eventually split...

Yeah I was concerned about that as well. Definitely can't be good for it IMO.

I was speaking to Scott's mount bending. Are you talking about your Turblown mount bending?
so many of the build threads have become inter-mixed with info from other peoples builds. So trying to keep it straight.

If it is your mount for your build, what thickness is the top tab that bolts to the mortor mount? I want to know so i can compare it to mine.

Thanks
