I can't believe that is something that a FAB shop would let out the door. I can't weld for **** and my stuff looks way better than that

I think some of the stuff was really done with extreme care and time then when it came down to crunch time other parts were rushed out the door.

If you Google map the shipping address this fab shop appears to be a house. Not that it means anything, location isn't necessarily an indication of quality or skill. But for someone researching a vendor it may be information worth noting.

yeah some of the stuff I have seen looks very nice while others look **** cobbled together. On version 2 there are ways to make that look nice but the slapped together flat stock does not work, version 1 i would not put on my bicycle and expect it to hold up. Location is not a indication of quality or skill, i grantee that.

Hope you guys get this stuff worked out.

Dude, I so wish you were local. With an extra RX-8 as a test bed and some time I am sure you could work wonders.

So just got done with a meeting with a very trusted local fabricator. He seems to think the mount sent to me was very well thought out and solidly built.... albeit a bit ugly. Its going in as is!

You do know this is not an upgrade but a whole different kit right? It has nothing to do with the Greddy kit.

I know, but with this larger turbo, dp, manifold and motor mount it should be able to work with the greddy hard piping.... Maybe newhotside piping to the IC as well

It could work but the Greddy piping is way too small for this setup. Once you are into it that much you might as well go all out anyway

IIRC we need a 2.25-2.5" outlet on the turbo to the IC and a 3" outlet from the IC to the Throttle body. Turbo inlet should be 3" all the way through.

That would be optimum for our car on most low mount turbo setups. when you start getting into big boy territory that's a different story. Also our engines wouldn't be able to handle that lol.

The greddy piping is a mixed bunch of **** and its pretty well suited for the 18g hybrid.

Hmmm well, im gonna do alot more talking to Elliot in the future, when i can afford it, to see what I can do for upgrading my greddy.... Otherwise I may just have to go with a full out kit, shouldnt be too hard to install considering it follows the same path as the greddy. Could be sooner than later though, I start my big boy job (just finished university in May) in a week!

I've been off the forum for a pretty long while here, I have been travelling all over Egypt and parts of Europe all summer so an easy yes or no will do; does MM still do his custom calibration service?

You can turn the greddy kit into something damn good with minimal outlay ...

Go on... I don't want to upgrade to something that isn't capable of hitting 350whp; plus I'm sick of watching boost fall off at 7k rpm with the GReddy, so if the GReddy piping is too small for that then.... I might have to go a different route. Despite what many people may say about MM I found his Calibration service to be very easy and efficient once he started the google talk stuff for tuning my car the first time.

Also it took me longer than expected but I now have a second car for DD so I'm gonna get the EBC installed ASAP next week.

Sorry for the thread jack.... feel free to PM or facebook me Brett

Just need a larger compressor wheel and a few other goodies.

When my Frankengreddy gets on the dyno next month I should have some good numbers at a higher RPM band.

/\ what he said - another straight up answer from Shady .

Although there are some subtle tweaks required to achieve a good result .
