My goal is to rework the intake so the MAF is out front and move the bov to the last pipe before the TB and see if I can tune with the Cobb and get decent results. If I can't get it to work I'll look at other EMS options. But even still it will have cost less and if there's problems I am up to the challenge of dealing with them. It's not like I paid an "expert" to built this for me
Good score ! I'm sure you can get the maf set up properly . There is plenty of help here if you need it

Just read your previous post and now i'm confused .... That other home-made kit coming out and the PTP going in ?

Thanks for the offer on help. The PTP kit is what I have installed, but I had to add the turbo, bov and wg. I'm also working on my own MAF housing. So it's mostly a PTP kit but with a bunch of modification.

Nice man, congrats. If you ever need an extra PTO manifold let me know. A local shop here in San Antonio fabricated them and they have one left over that they have been trying to get rid of forever.

I think he wanted $300.00 for it but I'm sure with cash in hand he would let it go cheaper.

In a month and a half, and for half the money I originally spent with you, I have my own turbo system that I have pieced together. Guess what, it fits and it doesn't look like a metal dog took a dump! It actually looks very nice and clean compared to that garage art you "fabbed" up and oh yeah, let me mention again, IT FITS!!! and I can keep the under brace.

Much thanks to FazdaRX_8 for all your recommendations and inspiration! You are a great guy! I am still in awe that you completely built your setup from scratch!

I've still got some work to do, and I'm not claiming success yet, but not bad for a guy in over his head, eh? If I can do this in half the time for half the cost, yet still have problems installing the turboke kit, I think it says something. Just sayin'...

Its looking really nice!

Thanks 9k. I'll PM you.

Tonight the car runs Still have a few months of snow weather left. I have a few things to button up before its ready for the street, like moving and recirculating the bov, finishing the initial reworked MAF housing, and some additional OMP heat shielding. I wrapped the manifold and dp with dei wrap, stuff smokes a bit... I'm sure once I get it on the road I'll have some rework to do on the MAF housing, and plenty of other dialing in, but just to have it running at the moment is great! It idles nicely, though with the bov currently vta it will stumble and die after revving and letting off the gas, as expected.

Here's a pic of mine after I put on the exhaust wrap and a pic of the entire kit I got on eBay the day I received it just after Christmas.

You didn't do any research on him prior? tsk tsk.

But you are probably okay, chances are he outsourced your engine rebuild to someone else anyway.

...or that to finish it sooner he started cutting corners while poorly building some other parts. That's what happened with my friend's FD. Great work and delivery time at first, an ugly mess after the first few shipments.

Sounds like him/them. I have another buddy who recently received his kit after almost a year and now he too is paying someone else to fix issues and improve it.

Ok I need some input I wrecked my car recently and I may no longer be In need of a new eng.. So I told Elliot of turblown about this and asked for my refund back and he said that he would let me know so a day later he says that he would split the shipping with me for a doner eng that he is just now receiving saying that I can sell it to recoup my loss but the kicker is that I ordered it over the phone and he emailed me a receipt with the no refund clause in it saying that I needed to sign ( ie agreeing to terms and conditions) and mail the receipt to him, due to my talent for procrastination I never did ( dose that mean i never agreed to the terms and conditions?) so can I get my refund back?

Yes I'm a d-bag.
I've seen too many of these types of posts lately.
I'm fixing yours because I feel it's worth it to have someone actually read.
