This is confusing to me as well - I was told recently on here that in the US a clutch is just the disc. Surely he should put a whole new clutch assembly in ?

Of course - I'm kidding ....

Lift I guess.....I've done 3-4 out the top...and just did the last one out the bottom....

OMG it is so much easier and faster

You can assemble everyting and just lower the car back onto it....slick as can be

So, you're installing a new engine with turbo kit and questioning whether or not ypur NA clutch with 30k miles should be replaced? I suppose as long as you don't mind dropping the trans out again, but it's a real pita without a lift IMO.

Dropping the whole thing out the bottom is waaaaay easier.

Damn it. I have access to a lift but then I would be out of my element with tools, etc. That would be the best way though.

Take tools to lift or take the lift to tools. Whichever is easier

Yeah, maybe I will give my buddy a call and ask to borrow a bay. I would have to get it all done quickly though.

Okay, got just about everything ordered I need. Now let's talk about nitrous. I am using a water/air intercooler. heat soak can be an issue with these. Do you think using the nitrous to cool the radiator for the air/water intercooler system is a good idea?

^ Hey that's me! Toretto is my nickname.

I mean the nitrous kit is there, I don't really want to remove it so I might as well use it for something.

Yea it makes sense to see if you can utilize it, I'm just giving you **** for dragging out this build even further.

^ I feel like it would create less dilema for you also; gotta say I think I'm a fan of Air-Air IC over the Water-Air though.

Yeah, the air/air might go in for the initial setup and tune since it's less complicated to do so. But I will run a water/air due to the lower pressure drop over the air to air and to free up room in front of the radiator.

Caan't see how the water/air is an option Once it heat soaked in your weather it likely would never cool down

You really should V-mount an air to air and be done with it

I am going to try the air/air first but I really want to do the water/air, I think with a properly sized radiator it will work. And when temps get too high I can spray the rad with nitrous. If it doesn't work I reinstall the Greddy piping and inter-cooler.

I remember the first Greddy kit I had on my Civic with the 1.6L SOHC VTEC didn't even have an intercooler. I used to beat up on 5.0's in that thing, what fun.

Yeah as much as I have historically hated Mustangs (started off as a Z28 owner), I have to admit the latest gen is pretty sick. Power an handling is pretty hard to hate on.

+1 but doing that properly means cutting a big hole in the hood and venting it out through there so it's typically a race car setup, also a custom radiator setup too

The OP should probably stick to baby steps ...

ole bud--i have ran a water to air water cooler for a number of years now. It will heat soak. No doubt about it.
It is great for the drag strip, its ok for around town when you dont worry about max performance, but for your canyon driving or road racing it is going to heat soak at some point. My big ole cooler i just installed has helped me a lot, but under full boost for extended period of time any a/w intercooler is going to heat soak. You cant defeat the physics.
You can do some things to make it better--you dont have to use nitrous--you can use just a water spray--to help cool it --but that sure gets complicated and can mess with the tune?
Water meth is the best way I know off to control the charge temp and to help with detonation.
I hate having to use it as it makes things much more complicated, but for right now--its my best option. You also cant ignore the need for higher octane after you throw boost on this 10:1 engine
Dang if you do, dang if you dont?
