ole bud--i have ran a water to air water cooler for a number of years now. It will heat soak. No doubt about it.
It is great for the drag strip, its ok for around town when you dont worry about max performance, but for your canyon driving or road racing it is going to heat soak at some point. My big ole cooler i just installed has helped me a lot, but under full boost for extended period of time any a/w intercooler is going to heat soak. You cant defeat the physics.
You can do some things to make it better--you dont have to use nitrous--you can use just a water spray--to help cool it --but that sure gets complicated and can mess with the tune?
Water meth is the best way I know off to control the charge temp and to help with detonation.
I hate having to use it as it makes things much more complicated, but for right now--its my best option. You also cant ignore the need for higher octane after you throw boost on this 10:1 engine
Dang if you do, dang if you dont?

Yeah I think for now I will stick with the Greddy and try and get creative mounting it. The engine should be on the crate tonight.

Patience my friend, patience! I am a one man show. I will strip the block tonight and hopefully get new that my motor is shipped by Friday. But speaking of gauges. Do you think and oil pressure gauge is needed?
I'm the gaugeless wonder (boost and AFR is all I have) so can't really advise .
While I rarely pay attention to mine it might be a good point of reference if things start acting funny...
I have temp+pressure in one digital gauge, it is a bit more costly but I've been liking it a lot so far:

Nice man, can you send me a pic? Is it a 52mm gauge?
HAHAHAHA.... Hey that is my Boost Gauge!
I would say Fuel Pressure over Oil Pressure. The AccessPORT can monitor alot, that along with AFR, Boost, and Fuel Pressure I feel like I have enough to monitor.... for the moment and it's a street car....

I have fuel pressure, oil temp, and oil pressure right now and will use my good box for boost. I am going to ditch oil pressure so I have a spot for my AFR. I would like and EGT gauge though.
Why not buy a loteck and keep oil pres.... could go AFR, EGT and something else then?
I feel like Oil pressure would be more needed than Oil temp, considering you can measure water temp with the AP/goodbox.

Yes.
My question still stands though, why not go with the loteck gauge pod?.... You already mention having/wanting 5 gauges of the 6 available spots you would have with this and you would get to keep both your oil pres and temp guage?
You could go with a boost gauge and monitor your water temps in that Texas heat with the AP or goodbox....
