Also, is running the drain line to the oil drain pan plug okay? I use an oil extractor for oil changes anyway.
I have mine running from the oil adapter plate.
Now you have me wondering.

Dude buy the Greddy oil pan .... makes the job much easier.

Changing oil pans is not that hard.

Ran mine from the plate, lots of pressure, and easier.

I would run it anywhere BUT the oil pressure sender ;0 ...that thing has a strange thread...is in the corner where it is a bitch to hook up...and if it breaks in the block it is a PIA to remove without pulling the engine

If you have a adapter that's where I would put it......\\

You can use the oil drain...but it isn't too big of a deal to drill a hole and use a bulkhead type hydraulic fitting to do a nice adapter...just have to pull the oil pan thats the only downside

Thanks, what is the minimum size the feed line should be? My adapter only has the small NPT ports on it.

I have two factory pans but the new motor will come all sealed up, I'd hate to pull the pan off of it. If I can use the factory drain plug location I would like too.

Oil line can be small... -4 or so usually

The restrictor is the smallest part to limit flow..............

I thought about that actually so my brain is not totally FUBAR, just a bit slow. Would a 1/4" drain line be sufficient? or does it need to be 1/2"?

will you not be using the greddy oil drain flange at the turbo? because if you do, it will be 5/8" (-10 AN) anyways. since you haven't done it before, just know its very tight in that area if you plan on making a custom oil drain.

Yes I am, just didn't know the size but I found it. What fitting did you use at the pan? Bulkhead type? Welded? I remember seeing a pic of how MM did his but now I ca't find it. I was thinking of using this 5/8" silicone oil drain line.

here's MM's old setup (no idea if he changed it since or not). looks like it was bolted to the pan.

I used the 45 degree, 1/2 NPT to 5/8" barb fitting from atpturbo and welded a 1/2 NPT bung to my oil pain. On the opposite side of the drain plug though (front of vehicle).

Since both his and mine are more custom setups, maybe someone will chime in as to where to mount the flange on the oil pan specific to the greddy turbo. But the turbo kit did come with a 5/8" barb to M14x1.5 (i think that's the drain size) to fit at the drain plug.

Okay guys need some input. Thoughts on having the return line to the front cover or someplace else?

There was a weld bung on a card in the kit I sold to you. It came with it when I bought it. Not sure of the size.

Yeah I have that, what do you think about returning it to the front cover? Rob at pineapple told me it's best to have it return above the oil level in the pan if possible.

Yeah my concern is that the hose would be too long an you would not have gravity to help the flow out of the turbo.

He doesn't have a lot of experience with the greddy kit so I sent him pictures of the manifold, etc. so he can see how it will mount.

Your concern is well founded ......

BTW - is there any wheel you aren't going to reinvent with this setup ?

I'd use something like this....cut the male NPT flush with the hex on the inside....and you are good to go...use 5/8" or -10
