Thanks for the input. No, no impacts or damage that I know of. I do mostly highway miles, and I haven't run over anything. I'm thinking that maybe getting the tires rotated might help rule out the tire noise, but I don't know what else to try after that if the noise doesn't move.

You might want to consider getting a compression test.
Do you have a mid-pipe?
Maybe your thinking the over-run sound on a high rpm shift is the turbo noise you mention.

WellThen, you could have a bad tire so trying to rotate them to figure that part out would be good. I worked at Bridgestone for a couple years and tires would make some strange noises if the internal structure was jacked up at all. If it is a poorly made tire then you can usually get them replaced by the manufacturer as it is a safety issue.

That's a good question, and I don't think anyone could give a definite answer as there are many things that could affect your cat life. My current cat has been on my car for about 70,xxx miles and it's still good, and I'm sure there are people out there whose cat has lasted much longer. But definitely the OEM cat will most likely last longer than any aftermarket cat would.

Power Steering
My power steering goes out sometimes.. when it goes out while i'm driving it jerks the steering wheel and then it goes out. What do I need to do? Also sometimes when I come to a complete stop the car dies. I changed out the 2 of the spark plugs and got a new battery. My father is helping me get it fixed up. I bought in bad condition. The power steering has been like that since I got the car. The car dying sometimes started happening after I hydroplaned and ran over a curb.

As for the stopping - suggest full tune up replacing plugs.coils,leads , filter replace ,spray the maf CO contact cleaner . If that does nothing come back with some more specific details of the issue.

Look, im doing my research delicately and not just make/post some $hit up to **** you guys off.
in the NEWBIE post #9 it mention:

I just trying to compare the methods. It's a legitimate question, don't know why it would get some sparks out someone.

I bought 12x1.25 lug nuts that don't fit on my 8. I just want to see if anybody can confirm if 12x1.50 will fit or not, and if not what size I should buy.

Radio display wiring schematic
Hi there! I have a 2004 mt touring edition and I had a lcd double din installed. Unfortunately it was stolen out of my vehicle and I am now trying to get the stock radio put back in. The radio works however the display is not working. The clip was not the right size so I went to the scrap yard and grabbed the display wire clip. Tried wiring it in but no luck. Can anyone help me??

Power steering is a common issue . There is a plug below the battery that can get contaminated by radiator water overflow. Suggest you unplug this and spray the crap out of it with CO contact cleaner and try again . If that doesn't work have a read up in this thread : https://www.rx8club.com/trouble-shoo...overed-107481/

Thank you, I've cleaned it up and everything. I have yet to test it out. Also, I noticed how the radiator sits at an angle. Does the engine under cover play a big role in channeling the air through the radiator & condenser to prevent over heating in the summer? It looks as though without it you would not get enough air through it going down the road. The air would probably deflect off of the radiator and hit the road instead of channeling through and over the engine. Mine is severely damaged so I had to remove it after I hydroplaned and went over the curb.
