A dumb question
Hey, it's warm now, wondering will warm air conditioning release some of my engine heat anyhow? Cuz it is hot air coming out of it after a while drive, even if I turn it on blue line which indicates cold air... So if I leave it on will that decrease my engine temperature somehow??

Yes, the heater core can act as a minor secondary radiator, so if you are pulling hot air through the HVAC system then it will be shedding some of the heat from the coolant. If the rest of your normal coolant system works correctly, then there is no added benefit. If your cooling system is failing, or near the edge of failure, then it just might help save the engine.

Got it! Luckily there was no apex seal in the way. The chaser tried to go in crooked but I took my time and kept patient and eventually it caught and went in straight. The plug slid right in after that. Thanks guys!

When the AC is on, pulling cold air through the HVAC system, the heat in the HVAC air is being extracted at the AC Condenser. This sits right in front of the radiator, so the air that the radiator is seeing is somewhat hotter than normal ambient temperature. This can reduce the efficiency of the radiator, and cause problems on really hot days, or if there is already some other cooling problem lurking.

Just saw an preload front drop on new springs, and noticed that I have my front much higher than rear, but I have installed racing beat springs about year ago, would it still make any difference if I will preload it now?

Now, my question for everyone...
I just recently installed Progress Technology springs and KYB Gas-a-just shocks. I loosened the arms from the rear and raised the hub till the car almost lifted off the jack stand and I noticed an immediate drop after putting the car down... The front on the other hand is a different story; I loosened the two bolts on the upper a-arms and removed the end-links from the sway bar and dropped the car afterwards and tightened them to spec afterwards. The springs are advertised to drop 1.2" F and 0.8" R and my front barely dropped from stock even after the process. I've driven the car around for about twenty minutes and the height has yet to show any signs of lowering. Should I wait longer and drive the car more often in order for the springs to fully compress? Or do I have to loosen the alignment cam as well on the front?

I feel like a dummy for continuously ending up in this thread for stuff I should know but don't...
Today's dumb question: I just cleaned my MAF. Didn't look like it needed it but I had it out to check and I bought the cleaner so what the hell. Anyways, the screw holes are stripped. I just read the DIY on fixing them but is this something I need to worry about really? Doesn't the MAF seal itself in the hole?
I know, dumb question but I need to know if I should make it a priority to fix this sooner rather than later.

Yes, the MAF needs to be sealed, it will be a vacuum leak without it, even if the gap is on the upstream side, since the flow entering the stream would still be completely missing the sensor tip that does the reading.

First question, prob the dumbest.
I'm looking for the rear tail light. I've seen some custom work done with the series I but that's not what I'm looking for. I have the series 2 and I know mine did't come with the little triangle the series I did. Here is a picture of what i'm talking about, the red light/reflector in the middle of the bumper. I'm thinking its a UK thing..
It looks like its a different rear bumper but maybe not.
From this picture it looks like its a separate part of the bumper that might be able to be removes and replaced with another part. Is the light in the top 3 pix made custom or is there a part of the bumper you can buy somewhere?

We non-mechanical types will be changing the rear pads and rotors on my 2005 Shinka with the help of the wonderful 2-part YouTube video recommended by this forum....anything else we should know?
