This is the best I could find. They're wanting $200. Now I have to convince myself that it's worth it. I love my satellite radio but wouldn't mind a nice CD once in a while. Although maybe now might be the time for me to just get the in-dash MP3 player instead of the changer and call it a day. Decisions decisions.

On another note... Anyone interested in a Buffalo Wild Wings (or the like) get-together this coming weekend? I'm good for Friday evening, Saturday noonish, or anytime Sunday. Friday evening could be a happy hour sort of thing and for those of us that might like to consume a beverage or ten. Ideas? Complaints? Wants? Needs?

SCORE!!! I talked with a guy at Al's Foreign Car and he'll sell me a used changer from an '05 Mazda 6 for $125. Now the test will be to see if I can remember how to get the blasted thing out of my dash. I might just have to wait until I have an extra set of capable hands available since those clippy things are a beotch. I'm calling you out Mr. Ferret!!

Now that Bill is back, did we want to decide on a day to meet up at Buffalo Wild Wings as we had previously talked about. How about we shoot for this weekend. I am up for any time Friday or Saturday.

Well, I just managed to pop the old cd player out and the "new" one back in in less than an hour. Not too shabby considering all the damn red screws holding that thing together.

An interesting discovery happened during the install, though. The Cd changer I put in was from a 2005 Mazda 3 that had a manufacture date of October 2004 and the bad changer I took out had a manufacture date of July 2002. That's a two and a half year old changer in a NEW 2005 RX-8!! WTF!?! The drive I put in is much quieter and appears to change discs quicker. Not bad for a $125 "upgrade."

Fish... this coming weekend you'll be in Chicago and next weekend is the ultimate racing weekend for me. There's a track day on Saturday and an autocross on Sunday. I'm going to need to do some garage time this weekend to get the oil and diff/trans changed. I'll most likely also clean the K&N. Any chance you'd like to cancel the Chi-town trip? When are you leaving? If it isn't until Saturday we can do the fluid changes Friday night.

Hmm.

Well sh*t. I guess it happens again. I had the same situation when I had my awd tsi talon. The DSM group always had events on weekends. Everyone has weekends off.......except me. Plan it, and i will do my best to attend.

I like the way you choose cars. My last one was a 96 eclipse gst, then to the 04 RX8!

Bill - I'm actually going to U of Illinois Champaign to see my lady, then we're off to Chicago. I'm supposed to leave about 3 pm friday to go. Sounds like a perfect garage day...but I can't join

What? Champaign isn't a fun enough town to hang out?

Does one day this week work out for you folks for a happy hour sort of thing? I'm good any day this week. I'm still on a sabbatical from coaching until next week. After that I'll be limited in my right-after-work activities but I can always make exceptions. Corwin's near mine and Fishy's office is a great place for a happy hour and they have Blue Moon on tap. Yum!

I need to clean the K&N and change my oil as well. My car could use a good spot buffing too (anyone have a buffer?). I am out of town this weekend and have a end of summer party on thursday so for this week BW3's would have to be tonight or tomorrow.

I've got a buffer but stopped using it a long time ago since I've determined nothing beats a little elbow grease and a good compound.

Alright... how's this?
Where: Corwin's in Creve Couer/Olivette or Buffalo Wild Wings (one centrally located to those showing up)
When: Wednesday, August 15th, After work-ish (4:30-5pm until ?)

I'm personally leaning towards Corwin's but BWW is always good, too. Post your thoughts/availability.

Well I guess I have to be carefull what I wish for. Corwins tomorrow would be great except that I grill at my house in the Central West End every Wednesday at 6:PM. Maybe I will see what friends of mine are planning on attending. If its just a couple maybe I cancel and go to Corwins with you guys.

OR you all coming to my place is an option too. We will be eating in my semi-airconditioned garage. Yes it warm but nothing is better than grilling your own steak, chicken or brat. Grilled corn on the cob and veggies. Its also better for the budget for any person trying to mod thier new rx-8. I am located at the corner of Kingshighway and lindell across from The Chase Park Plaza.

Do I cancel or is anyone interested? I could go either way. No biggy.

I don't count because I don't have an RX8 anymore, but I can't make the BBQ. Even if I could, not sure how close I want to be to flaming hot coals when its over 100!!

Tomorrow is no good for me because I will be working. How far are either one of those from Craig Rd. and Olive? If anything, I might be able to take an hour of personal time or so to have lunch or something.

Yeah, I'd say it's a bit hot for a BBQ. I'm thinking Corwin's. Plus the bartender is cuter.

ferret... Corwin's is pretty close to Craig and Olive. It's up on the right down Olive just before you get to 170. If you could join us for a bit that'd be great.

I was just working outside and it is REALLY hot. I think even in my A/C garage it may be pretty toasty still. I probably see you guys tomorrow.

I'll go for Corwin's tonight.....what time do we want to plan on? I'll have to stick around work until it is time to head there and don't want to have to stick around any longer than necessary.

I will be there around 4:45 - I have only met H20 and BBG, and that was 2 yrs ago, so please be looking for me and yell if you recognize me. Wearing gray-green slacks and yellow striped shirt and red tie. Will drive up in my gold infiniti FX 35. See you in 90 minutes. David
