Ah, good ol' legal Latin. Only thing worse is when I used to have to know biology Latin. Although isn't the phrase "expressio unius est exclusio alterius?"

There are a bunch of different ways to say it. Your version basically says "The expression of one excludes those different" while mine says "expression of one excludes one." It all means the same thing. My legislation teacher used the unis -unis one.

Good idea!! I say a BBQ is in order. Creve Couer lake? Maybe a BBQ and drive on the river road in Illinois with a stop at Fast Eddies in the evening. Anyone? Anyone?

Think I could go for that. Sat or Sun would probably both work.

Hooray for bbq, driving, and beer. If we're ending the night across the river, we wouldn't be too far from.....

Quick reminder... there's a track day at Gateway this Saturday and an autocross on Sunday. If you want to see some rotaries (and others) flying around a racetrack feel free to stop by Saturday. There's no cost to watch and you can hang out in the paddock/pit area to get a good view of both the main straight and the chicane on the infield. I'll hopefully be taking in-car video all day and will throw them up here hopefully next week.

Also... those who are coming to the track day make sure you make a right as you pull into the entrance of the race track so you can follow that around to the tunnel that goes under the track. They close the main track entrance once the event is underway.

I'd be up for something at Creve Coeur Lake... any disc golfers in here? They have a course right there.

I'll definitely be at the autocross Sunday (today-ish). Haven't heard from anyone else but I can guess that ferret will be there.

Congratulations go to ferret for being one cone shy of a trophy yesterday (he had the time but snagging one cone added 2 seconds). He's definitely shedding his rookie status quickly. Maybe next year we can see him with some R-comp tires wrapped around those sexy new wheels. I might be selling a slightly used set in November.

I've finally gotten around to getting the videos off the camera from Saturday's track day. I haven't had a chance to edit, crop, etc them yet. Although I did manage to shrink one of them down a bit to make it reasonable for you all to see a sample. The originals were 3GB each! I have learned that my camera mount desperately needs some work, though. Looking at the videos on a large HDTV almost made me ill with all the camera shake.

Here's the 5th and final run of the day (270Mb, 16'02", 640x320 QT): http://www.landsharktech.com/RX8/082...52007_run5.mov

This video has me passing a Porsche 928, a 90's Corvette, Mercedes SL55 Kompressor AMG, Pontiac GTO (actually ran off the road), and a beautiful Shelby Mustang GT-350.

If anyone wants to see the other videos or wants a smaller/larger version of this one send me a PM and I'll give you a link.

That was amazing!!! Sign me up! It look like more fun than autocross and maybe like it would be less wear and tear on my daily driver.

I'll wait until either a few more people are able to get theirs running well, I can afford a supercharger (along with the desired upgrades), or I have another car so the 8 isn't the daily driver. Oh how I miss my POS Tibby.

What gears were you using? Looks like 3-4?

Ferrari/rx8

Had to post this was great and made my night.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SK0xECh9eM

So I was surfen utube "ferrari" since the rx8 vids havent really changed in forever. I come across this one and these $200,000 dollar cars are having a little fun together on the road. Nothing crazy, just something I hope we all can do soon. Anywho.... early in the vid a silver 8 gets passed and I was like sad to see it go. (left side). Minutes go by and and who shows up later in the vid right behind the f1's...yes...someone who has made me proud...the rx8.(at about the 4:45 mark.) Then at the end of the vid when the rich kids are pulling into a parking lot you can hear the rotary zoom zoom bye.

Thought it was kinda fun so I share.

T.

Yeah, if you listen closely through the wind noise you'll hear me beeping all through the infield in 3rd and I'm reaching the top of 4th on the straight. I was getting to like 120ish mph at the start/finish line and I'm guessing I was around 90 on the infield. I haven't run 3rd gear up that high in a while on the highway to figure it out. Might be a good homework assignment for you guys.

Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I had an idea for an RX8 logo.
Any suggestions would be welcome! Feel free to print this out on cards or something to spread the word.

This might not be the highest quality version of this image, so if it looks bad when you print it out let me know. My printer is dead.

I might change the RX to red also and just make the background of the flag checkered. I thought this way it might also work in just black and white.

I like the idea, now we just need someone to take over and organize meets! I'm really bad about being a social coordinator. I'm even all for doing what other car clubs in other regions do and meet up with other groups of car enthusiasts(RWD, AWD, neon-haters, etc.).

Edit: about the logo, if you could find a way to incorporate the rotary into it somehow it'd be super neato.

It kinda has a nascar feel.
