Is it possible to add a temperature dependent rev limiter? I'm thinking it would be nice to have to avoid running a cold engine to hard(for ex if someone borrows your car).

this safety feature comes standard to all RX8.

it doesn't let you go beyond 6000rpm before it gets up to operating temperature.

There are warm-up rev limit and hysteresis parameters in the computer. These values can be adjusted if you have the tuning software.

Like chrisis said, there is a stock warm-up rev limit, but I don't know if it's 6000RPM (seems high).

Hey MM .... im putting in the bhr fuel pump this weekend .... can I get an updated map? I'm scared to do it because if the map is too different, I will most likely mess up my engine ...

Jeff, i'm annoying you as usual:
Malaspina sent the tune out on January 14th and got the "received" reply back but he still didn't get the first map and his folder doesn't exist. Any updates on his map?

Thanks!

G

jeff,

On my latest calibration the fuel ratio is reading 14.55 under WOT. Is this normal?

thanks

Depends if you are NA or FI and at what RPM.

It is normal to see low 14:1 - high 13:1 below 4000 on an NA application.
On an FI application, it should be about 1 point richer and hit the target AFR before 4000 RPM.

He can wait in line like everybody else.

I really don't have time to track down a member here and a member there to confirm where they are in line or what their status or changes are.
I currently have 117 calibrations in the queue and that is after the 90 that went out over the weekend!

I answered your question already about how it works.
When he gets his update, he will get a notification just like everyone else.

You should hire an Italian to reply to all those punk bitches in their mother tongue, just to make sure that they understand

I was looking at my AFR and it was not changing from 14.7 so i knew something was wrong. Then about 2-3 miles down the road i get a CEL. So i look and it reads

P0131- 02 sensor circuit low voltage(bank 1 sensor 1)

Do i need a new o2 sensor? Can i still drive the car or will it mess it up since the 02 sensor is not working right?

Did you already have time to ask what's the status of my submission? I'm just worried because the first one was rejected and therefore would be happy to hear that everything is OK; if it's in queue but just needs some time then that's OK for me.

I'm sure it's answered somewhere else but...

Is it a difference between 95 and 98 octane for the RX8? And would it matter for the mapping? After all 10:1 is not THAT high compression ratio...

Hey Jeff,

I emailed you on the 8th about tuning. I know you said you don't respond to PMs quickly...so I set it to your 'ap' email address. Shall I resend it, or PM it to you?

Most of the January list went out a long time ago.
Most of the February list went out a few weeks ago.
My plate should be clear by tonight.

Check for an e-mail by tomorrow. If you don't (didn't) receive an e-mail, check for your folder in the first post of the thread and check your SPAM setting on your e-mail client.

I'm in a similar situation, I got my received confirmation on 1/19/10.
I checked my client's spam filter, and already a long time ago, added all mazdamaniac email addresses to the server-side whitelist.

"If your RX-8 has a modified or non-standard MAF housing or if you have modified or non-standard fuel injectors, you MUST submit for a modified base calibration for your particular application before proceeding."

Meaning if you are running a FI rx8 (or trying to get it running) and your injectors are not stock we must submit the 11 deadly questions to ap@mazdamaniac.com so that we can obtain a base map because the FI rx8 maps you have will not work correctly or need to be tailored based on the injectors or maf changes..... Just want to know because i made the submission based on that statement in your instructions to the above email address.
