New MazdaManiac BASE Calibrations
#2629
Thank you for finally answering. Yes I followed the directions to the "T".
Sent an email with subject line "AccessPort Calibration Service" to ap@mazdamaniac.com on April 1st 2010. It had full answers to the 11 deadly questions and a short explanation as to what I need (base map for 750cc secondary injectors on a greddy turbo kit). I'm looking at the email right now in my sent folder. It was sent from azroto at gmail.
Please check if you have gotten it, or let me know if I need to resend. Does this mean I have to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks?!

I also sent you another email on April 13th to jeff@mazdamaniac.com and have not received a reply

You guys gotta realize that I am a one-man operation with hundreds of submissions coming in each week (3 for every one person that is on this board) and the VAST majority of you seem to completely lack the intellect/patience to follow directions.
So, I end up having to spend 4 or 5 times as long as I should have to cleaning up logs and trying to derive useful data from almost useless submissions.
I can only send someone's submission back for corrections so many times before the submitter completely shuts down, curls into a ball and becomes completely useless to me and themselves.

Jeff I know it's short notice but I only have 1 week (30Th) until a track day and I need a new map for my upgraded P2 injectors. The car runs great, just a little rich. I sent you a request for a new base map about 3 weeks ago, but wondering if I should data log now and send you my current map and logs. Let me know what you can do for me. OHP17654@comcast.net

Throttle body spacer and zex n2o
So today I installed my zex lit and bhr throttle body spacer. At lower and idle the car feels to Rich and kinda bogs down and jumps idle a bit. Do I need new map to compensate for the tbs? I know u says no about the nitrous kit idk about the tbs. The car feels Like it runs better and is a bit more responsive when I'm not spraying

Second, the car still runs strong, no obvious missfires from being to rich (I have the bhr ignition) it just runs real rich in the upper rpm range WOT when the p2 injectors are firing.
Third, even if I am down on power I will still have a fun track day. Its about bracking and handling anyways. The extra power just gets me down the straights a little faster but who cares. It all about the twisties for me. I had a new motor installed about a year ago and I only had 2K miles on it before my first track day. I never went more then 3/4 throttle and never above 7K RPM. My lap times were only a few seconds off my previous track days. And thats on a 3 mile course.
I went ahead and data logged and sent him another email to see what happens.

Its all good. just some people expect what they read, and sometimes what you read isnt how it works/ or happens.
i know i have some time to wait.
i dont think its intellect i believe its people trying to get it PERFECT. they ask questions that may seem retarded/ stupid to someone who deals with it EVERYDAY. At leas thats what i do.
But what do i know i never tuned anyones car or get flooded with calibration submissions.

No tuning is necessary with a properly installed zex kit with our spacer.

First off I cant because I modified my stock p2 injectors.

Still never got the new base map. So I went ahead and downloaded the AP Tuner software. I took the stage 1 cobb tune, modified the injector size and modified the Dwell for BHR igntion. It seems to be running strong but could definately use some maf scaling. However I dont trust myself enough to try fixing it. So unless I get a new map from MM before 5AM PST on the 30th, this will be the tune I have to use.

Hey Jeff,
Sorry to bother you, I know that you are really busy with calibrations. I've been waiting for a little over a month and half now and I'm just getting concerned that my submission might have been lost. I've checked the server and there hasn't been anything posted. I know that some people have waited up to 2 months to get their calibration so I don't want to seem impatient. Thanks in advance.

I had an idea of something that might help with all of the requests that go something like "where are my maps??!!"
Since it would be too hard to give each person a specific update on their maps and since any kind of ETA could be problematic, maybe once a week you could post the submission date for your most recent tune. That way, since each person will know when they submitted their log files, they can see how you're progressing through the queue and can get an idea of how much longer they might need to wait. Another thing you could post is how many tunes you have in the queue at that point. That way if they see you have 200 tunes then it will take much longer than if you 50.
I know in my situation, I'm waiting on a calibration for logs submitted on 3/21 which were confirmed on 4/1 (which may mean that they didn't make it into the queue until then). Anyway, if I see that you recently submitted calibrations for 3/15, I'd know where I stand without bugging you.
