One of those days should work. I'll have to see how my schedule's looking once I get back in town but I'm definitely ready to get this fan replaced so I'll make time if I have to.

The price for the Koni's is ok but you can get that same price or better from a more reputable vendor such as good-win racing or BHR.

I think you should look into the Bilstein HD's as you can later get them sleeved and re-valved if you wish.

The Koni's would get you lower off the bat though.... and are still a Very good set up.

yo homies! took the car for a drive yesterday, a/c works normal, car is legal, and the suspension is mad dialed, so much more fun driving around legal when everything appears to be working properly compared to being out of date for over 2 years with a sketchy suspension I found a company that does alternators by the way, I'm just trying to decide on the color, blue to match the led's, yellow to match the car, or maybe some type of polish/chrome finish since it will be powder coated. If I go through with it the new one will put out 200 amps. (eek)

200 amps! good lord. Make sure you have a good belt on that sucker.

I once helped design a crazy electronic system for a military vehicle and it included an AC unit, a whole slew of electronic equipment and "only" drew 65 amps and that was at 24 volts lol. We did alot of work to get it down that low.

You should be good to go now Canary!

Not exactly sure, the freight companies tracking system sucks. But it is coming from Oregon so I would bet probably a week or so.

Isn't it nice you just be able to go out for a cruise and enjoy the car?

It wasn't that it was illegal, it just lots of little things wonrg with it that would fail inspection, like my hazards were no longer working etc. The other thing is it was in different stages of disrepair, assembly, unassembly, so I just never was able to get it to where I was comfortable taking it somewhere to get it done. The whole thing started in 2009, my sticker expired in January, I kept meaning to get it done and just couldn't get around to it, then March 09 came and I lost my job, all but totalled a rental car (hail damage), and my car lost another engine all in one week, then a week later I found out we were invited to Sema so it was getting driven back and forth every day to get worked on until I got another car at which point it stayed parked in the shop for months totally taken apart (I also had to replace my radiator during that time) until we took it to Sema, then when we got back it had a busted rear suspension, (which happened in Vegas and cost me about 4-5 different magazine features...grrr) it took me over 4 months to resolve that, then it hit more shows last year but was mostly trailered and still having minor annoyances until this year when i pitched the air ride for coilovers/sways/endlink, fixed all the stuff like hazards not working etc (my amps also sprang a leak so the whole back of the car got soaked in mineral oil...yay) and just generally got it running better etc. (new plug wires, sent my ignition system back to bhr and they refurbed it etc.)

whew...it's been a long road to get to just get in it and drive it, but it's awesome to finally be able to, I don't think a lot of people on here who see my car realize how much work has been done,or how much of an achievement just driving the car again is to begin with, I've been fighting for about a year and a half and finally rocked it so it's a pretty sweet feeling just getting in it, starting it, and going down the street

As for the alternator, I'll use tank treads if I need too, (heh) I just want something that'll keep up and then some and with my alt growing in age and being abused the last 2-3 years I figure a 200amp should do nicely

shoot yeah, I drove the car to heatwave again this year and the whole way there I was surrounded by cops, apd, dps, they were all out in force that weekend, but fortunately not a single one of them thought to pull me over

funny thing is one of them was an undercover, I was on the lower deck of 35 (downtown Austin) and a car carrier kept weaving like mad in front of me, I totally forgot about the cop behind me and floored it and blew by the truck doing about 85 or so and then let off as soon as I was far enough ahead, never got popped for it so I guess the cop didn't see me or didn't care, 2 seconds later I got radared by a string of motorcycle cops who were lined up all along 35 in front of mueller right before 290, they freakin' love that spot as they can pop people coming off the upper deck etc.

Yep, I have been driving thru Austin for years and the one ticket I got was by a bike cop in that spot.

yeah they are ruthless along that stretch. so I think we need to get some type of SA/Austin drive together or something, anyone had any thoughts on that? You guys ever consider doing the Cabela's Saturday night meet? Maybe we could all meet somewhere pseudo halfway, go play in the hill country and wind up there to finish things off or something? Just a thought, I have a few more shows left this year but I'd like to get the car back out on drives and such as well, probably driving it to Corpus for the heatwave show there in October as well. (no more trailering it, I'm not pimping a garage queen anymore )

Well, it looks like I might be busy Sunday afternoon so if Saturday is still looking good then I might stop by to try and get that fan done.

Brought my 8 back to the place that did the brakes to get rid of the dump truck squeal, 2 days ago ... I guess its no simple thing. Say the rotors are glazed.

I wonder if I will get it back today?

I found the best price on side aero flares ... $245 plus about $50 shipping? for a pair of VR... on Amazon.com. I only need the driver side ... oh well. The scraped up one can be painted... but one of the mounts is snapped so ... I don't think its worth painting.

ebay has oem parts for cheap, I bought my multi color fogs for less than 100 bucks brand new, they were legit, came with the Mazda instructions and all that. There used to be a guy on there who was selling stuff cheap, I don't know if he's still got a store or not, maybe the dealership we was robbing finally caught him or something
