sure, I'll just bring my bravada texted my friend today and no dice yet, sucks as I have tools and stuff sitting up at their shop, guess I'll need to be more aggressive and figure out what the f is going on, sucks. My suspension goodies all are here now, I'm about 1 inch away from just saying fudge it and doing it all myself, sick of being let down and disappointed by people.

Well if you find the space let me know and I'll try and come up and help. Only basic hand tools, jacks and stands are needed. I can bring that stuff.

thanks man, posts like that are why I have a hard time letting go of my car after almost 8 years

I have the basics up at their shop, I can do the job in my driveway or even in my garage if necessary so that's not a problem, the fun part is going to be dismantling all the air ride stuff like removing the plumbing and all that, I'm going to have to pull the front bumper to remove my 2 tanks and take apart my trunk as well which are both extra projects, plus I have new headlights to replace my aging 8 year old ones that have survived like 3 front end collisions and are starting to show it I was hoping to knock all that out in a day but that might be a bit ambitious, really the only 2 things I'm concerned with at this point are finding my wheel key (ugh) and getting my 2 7 inch monitors in my trunk replaced as they're both going bad, my car isn't holding much of a charge right now either but I suspect that is the battery not getting recharged long enough due to not driving it etc. (I do start it once a week and let it idle/warm up to normal etc., but obviously that's not good enough)
Yep, such is the glamorous life of a show car I guess, always something needing attention, I'm really looking forward to making this car more of a driver, even with all the custom work it has

I'm not sure how easy the air ride stuff is to remove but the headlights, bumpers, and shocks are pretty easy to do in a day.

they're straight bolt ons so removing them is like removing a shock etc., I'm hoping the lines are on the outside of the car and not on the inside, I haven't really poked around to find out yet and to be honest when I was doing a lot of the work I was running on next to no sleep so I can't remember how we did all that. I don't think it will take much to yank that stuff out of there, it's just going to require a lot of disassembly/reassembly. I might even start doing some of the taking apart of stuff this weekend like dismantling the trunk etc. I had really hoped to have the car ready for our annual leakey trip and also for our next club meeting which is next Tuesday but oh well, might have to shoot for end of the month, which would still have it ready in time for other drives and I could make the "8" this year too I'm going to work on locating my wheel key and trying to get my stands/jack back before I formally request anyone's help, that'll be priority since it looks like I'm not "sponsored" anymore anyway. (ugh)

the 26th would work fine for me too, our annual leakey drive is that weekend but it's obvious my car won't be ready for it so I'm not too worried about it. I think as it stands now I have 2 options for location, one would be to just do it out in the driveway, another would be finding out if we could do it at one of our club member's shop, he's got a pretty niced sized shop where we've had a couple of tech days and such, if he's not making the drive maybe we can have access to it, I'll ask him today or tomorrow and see. I'd be down to drive to SA with a car full of parts if that's what it takes as well, I think after this weekend I'll know more about what's going on and I'll go from there, even if by some twist of fate the original person who helped me do all this to begin with is still interested in helping y'all are more than welcome to show up and give a hand either way so whatever happens I'll be sure to keep whoever's interested in helping/watching/whatever updated.

edit: so I just got a heads up from the club member who has a shop I can use if I need it, man this car has brought some pretty amazing people into my life, from guys on here offering to help out to the club I'm in as well, pretty amazing stuff to witness.

guess who found his wheel key in the glovebox?....yeah buddy, I'm seriously considering doing a lot of work this weekend, I get paid tomorrow so I can go grab a jack and stands I'm at least going to start taking things apart like the trunk etc. I don't think I'm going to take the car anywhere to do the work, I'm thinking I'll just do it at my house, that'll save me having to lug around all those parts. I got the impression this was too big a job for one person though, am I assuming correctly? I would be doing coilovers, sways and end links and then the other side projects I have going like the headlights and whatever else, main thing would be suspension first, then the rest as it comes etc.

That's some work for one guy. I have done coilovers and shocks/springs by myself and it's a little tough. The rear sway is easy but the front is a bitch but you will have the bumper off anyway so it's doable. Just don't dill dally and get to work early and eat your wheaties.

yeah weather is looking kinda' yucky this weekend, it's rainy and crappy outside right now and it might be like that all weekend, I'm probably going to start some of the disassembly though and might go looking for a floor jack etc. during lunch today at least. If you and others are still down to help maybe we can tentatively plan for next weekend, I'll find out for sure after this weekend and go from there.

It's crazy how much difference wheels and exhaust make on look alone. I'm stuck between getting new wheels or not spending the money I don't have.......it's so tough.

I actually contemplated doing the same but it gets REALLY hot under the hood so I left it in place, plus it helps with noise too. I actually replaced all mine since the dealership destroyed them swapping out my failed engine. I duuno, looks good either way I guess.

You don't een want to know the half of it, when we did the car for Sema I literally cleaned every sqaure inch of that thing, front to back, side to side, top to bottom, undercarriage, areas where you can't even see, places nobody will ever notice, all that crap I've still kept it fairly clean, but it's been driven and I haven't had the time lately so it's not 100% immaculate anymore.

So I talked with the guy I've been friends with forever and asked him about working on the car and all and he said he might be able to do it the 5-6th, I'd really like to get it done this weekend if possible, I've already disassembled the trunk so the rear should come out now, tinted one of my tail lights with the lamin-x stuff, still on the fence though as some of the edges look a little cheesy, it's hard to get it looking right when we have that "bubble" right in the middle I might try just trimming it off a bit more and seeing how that goes, it's just a sticker so I'm not worrried about it, headlights should be easy and heat does wonder with that stuff. So if anyone would like to play in south austin this weekend let me know, I've got a low profile floor jack and 2 stands, found my wheel key and I have some decent tools like socket sets etc. If not no big whoop, I'll just pursue my friend some more or pay a shop if I have too

It was obvious you had spent a ton of time and money on it when I saw it at SEMA.
