Is that black coupler by the engine a plumbing part? I swear we have some of those back at my dad's shop.

9k, post up that pic of the bracket when you get a chance... having a hard time remembering exactly what it looked like. I feel like an idiot because I found the install instructions in about 2 seconds when I checked their website.

It's very clear how it's mounted now but I'm not sure why it wouldn't come off... unless I'm missing another mounting point, it looks like the brackets are simply modify the stock set up so that it mounts as it usually would using the 2 studs. It looks like it should have come off after removing the 2 nuts, regardless of whether that bracket was broken. If the bracket is broken, I might need to contact them to see about getting a new one because I'd rather not risk a brake failure if something went wrong.

Just realized I forgot to post the damn link...

http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edoc/...ing-Stage3.pdf

The biggest question is if I should just assume to order the brackets or if all of this can be done using the current brackets.

man you guys are lucky, we used to have days like this back in my mini truck club days where everyone would show up at someone's house and help each other get their rides ready for the next car show or parking lot meet or just because basically, there's nothing like this in Austin any more as far as I know and I miss it. My suspension arrives this week and right now with all the changes my friend's are going through I may wind up having to do the work myself which is nowhere near as fun as wrenching around friends etc.

Well, ordering the mounting brackets today... they're backordered for about a month. Good news is, they've offered a refund once I provide photos of the broken brackets.

thanks! I'll keep y'all posted, I'm going to try and find out this week what I can expect. The whole thing is a mess as AudioFx isn't really in business any more, they'll take appointments and such on the weekends but the main installer who did all the design/work etc. on my car has a full time city job now and a new girlfriend, so since he's no longer obligated to work on cars on the weekend anymore and has someone else to suck his time away I'm not sure if I can count on him, his business partner (my other friend of 15+ years) flaked out and they had a falling out etc., plus he never supported my car anyway so he's a non-factor. I still want to hit shows this year and have fun with the car but I'm the only one out of our entire group of friends who is still into that, the rest of them have turned 180 on me (well, maybe 1-2 might still have hope lol) so it's been pretty shitty over the last 2 months. I've got a laundry list of things I'm trying to work on, so this year is going to be fun for me with no support anymore I guess lol ..sigh. I'll be tweaking my cars until I physically can't do it anymore, I thought my friends were the same way but maybe not...kinda' sucks.

Well, you just need new friends Being into cars will never grow old with me. I am trying to instill that in my son and as of right now he wants a cool car but is not up too learning how to wrench just yet. But I was the same way until I got my own car, before that my dad basically forced me to help him

But I know where you are coming from, some of my old car buddies now drive POS SUV's with no passion for modding anymore.

sways/end links arrive today, Stance arrives tomorrow, super excited to see this stuff but I'm afraid I won't be home when they deliver it which is going to be a pita big time.

Even if the brackets were fine, I'm not sure my brakes would have held up to a track day. Not sure why they're back ordered for a month... wondering if they waited till they were out to place a new order for them to be made again. Guess there's not much I can do about it and can't complain too much since they'll be refunding me the costs.

I hate knowing that I'm running on those broken brackets, but I'm guessing that's not a brand new issue so I just gotta hope it doesn't become a problem before I can fix it.

That sucks, I missed the UPS guy twice and had to go to BFE to pick it up at night or risk it getting sent back. When installing the stance remember the factory shock and spring will compress more than the coilover and the Stance go lower than most. We thought we had gone low enough and the rear was higher than stock I would say set them half way and then go lower if you wish.

Yeah it's kind of scary but I don't think they are going anywhere. Just drive casually until they come in.

I measured the shock body at full drop and said that was -3 inches or whatever the company says maximum drop is and then used that as a baseline. Like if I wanted a 1.5 inch drop I just made it 1.5 inches longer. I know it doesn't work exactly like that, but it got really, really close to what I wanted. edit: I have JIC FLTA2.

good to know, any opinion on what setting to put the sways at? My rears have 2 settings, 3 on the front (they're hotchkis), evidently they can be set super stiff from what I read, I have Whiteline end links coming with them, should be able to dial in a pretty sick setup once I get everything put on etc. My guess on the coilovers is the height is going to be a lot of trial and error, but oh well, once I figure it out it'll be easy from there I suppose. I'm going to miss planting the car on the ground, definitely not going to miss all the negatives I've had to deal with to be able to do that though

Well we did the whiteline endlinks and Hotchkis on the rear of Hoss-05's car and we just set them in teh middle for now. You don't want go too stiff or it could be twitchy on the road and that would not be good in bad weather. I would set everything on the soft side and fine tune it from there. we didn't geta chance to do the fronts of Hoss's car just yet, I want to do everything in the front all at once if I can.

Also, you will need two hands to fish the adjuster cables through on the rear coil overs.
