fortunately more time than money, with friends and some minor vendor hookups I didn't have to spend near as much as the 6 figure builds I was surrounded by
Materials are expensive though, especially paint and fiberglass, should have worked a deal on that stuff somehow, like a home depot hookup or something

Not sure yet, I am still debating. I am kind of leaning towards the Racing Beat Race Exhaust.

Okay guys, this weekend is the So Cal dyno day and same as last year, I plan on modding and watching the live stream at the same time. So if you have anything to do or wanna help wrench, then stop on by. Just bring refreshments if you can

Nice ride, I was not aware they had a Shinka with a carburetor. It must be extra special.

this Sunday? I might be playing with the car on that day, is is true you need 2 jacks to do the front? I need to get a 4 way too as I think mine are still at the shop, maybe I can go there Saturday and pick up some things. Either way, if you're in town and want to bs somewhere let me know, I don't have any real plans at this point.

No I meant the Sunday of the car show To do the coilovers I would have the car up on four stands man. Harbor Freight is having a sale of $25 for stands right now I think. I have the stands from there are they are very well built.

Saturday night on South Congress Ave during that show is the best night of the year for cars in Austin in my opinion, all these amazing rides line it on both sides, there's free music playing everywhere, people cruising up and down in more bad *** rides, it's just amazing, it's basically a "bad *** car festival", there's nothing like it in regards to variety, there's something for everyone.
I love all cars and older cars in particular so it's my nirvana once a year since I usually can't make pistons and paint or any of the other cool hot rod/rat rod shows. (I would love to go to the detroit autorama some day, one of my dream trips)
I don't think I'll have any choice other than to use 4 jackstands anyway with the air ride, once the front or back is done, the system will be wide open pretty much and not able to lift whatever is still hooked up unless I go crazy with plugs everywhere which isn't worth it if the stuff is coming out anyway.

Yea, I'm still searching. Would love to pick one up before April. Was thinking of the RB dual exhaust. Read something lately that the corksport was pretty good. Looking for the deep tone, no ricer lawnmower

I'm not a fan of the tips on the Corksport but they make great stuff. The best sounding exhaust to me is the Borla, hands down. But paying that much for a catback just doesn't make sense to me. The megan exhaust actually looks great, not sure how it sounds thugh.

What is the date for this and what car show are you talking about? Heatwave?

Randal - I've got two jack stands and a 4-way if you need it.

It's a 3 day show happening over the weekend of April 1st, Friday night is when things start getting a little awesome on south congress, Saturday night is when it's full of awesome as the whole street is lined up on both sides and you have people cruising as well. The show is run partly (or entirely? not sure) by the owner of the Continental Club (not the car lol) here in town, he's a huge car guy, show brings a ton of sick rides into town every year and it's getting bigger. I follow it on facebook and there's actually people shipping their cars here from overseas to make the show, they've got people from Canada and all over the US coming down too. HeatWave is a different monster, it attracts some pretty rad rides too but it's a different scene, different cars, different crowd really.
Thanks for the heads up on the tools, I'm going to try and pick up my stuff from the shop this weekend, one of the owners is selling stuff out of it like crazy and I'm concerned he might decide to sell some of my stuff as well just out of spite. I helped build that place and put a lot into it so it's going to be a little heartbreaking to see it like it is now, but whatever, it wasn't my business to lose or keep running and my friends who owned it seem to be fine with just letting it die anyway.

website for that show is www.lonestarroundup.com, if you want to check it out or meet downtown when it's going on feel free to let me know, that goes for anyone who sees this message
