Hey Guys,

Over the course of the last 4 days, I've CTRL+F'd my way through this thread looking for 17" set-ups. Between this thread, the Enkei thread, and a few short threads regarding 17" wheels, I think I've got a handle on what will fit, but I want to double check myself here so that I don't come away spending $2k on something that will make my car look like ***. I'm very open to suggestions, I just want my car to look good.

Submitted for your approval: (All 4 corners)
On S-techs (over OEM struts until they give me issues)
17x8.5 +30 (RPF1s)
255/40/17 DW or DWS by Continental

Just so you know where I'm going with this - my car is a hobby to me. It is not a DD or a dedicated track car. I take it on occasional cruises and it spends most of its time on bad roads in the middle of nowhere. This is how my OEM wheels got bent and why I'm switching to 17's. (More cushion for the pushin' or something like that) I'm not looking for "aggressive" but I don't want the wheels to look sunken, either. I read that 17's look absurd without lowering springs: hence the S-techs (they were cheap enough, anyway.)

Alright guys, let me know if I'm doing it wrong

Not sure how much extra cushion the shorter tire will give even if it is 17" wheels. I'd suggest 17x9.5 with a 265 or 275 personally.

Or maybe a 245/45 on the 8.5" for more sidewall

Thanks for the input, J#'s.

I'll look into a wider set-up, but I'll keep the 245/45 in mind if I go with the 8.5 inch width.

^be careful when working with conti's. They run pretty big compartively. I used to have hankooks but when i switched i found myself having to raise my car and do some fender work to accommodate the extra rubber. If you do go with conti's, try doing a 40 series to spare you some worry.

Rears all around! 235/40 or 245/40.

I'm not even sure what a Rota deus ex machina or whatever that is looks like.

The reason for the stagger is turning angle I want as much as possible with out scrubbing gonna do some drifting figured I would have better clearance from the inner fender. But I want them both to sit flush recomended offset for the front get it to sit flush. Or how wide can u go up front with out scrubbing at full lock

oic.

suggestion: you can still run the 10 +15 all around w/a stretch and slim sidewall but you might have to raise up a bit (no tire tucking). You'll def have more play with the 9's but look a little sunk in appearance. Nothing a spacer can't fix tho. Your choice really.

So like 245/35/18 on the 18x10s or should I go with a 235/35/18

^

there isn't much sense left to make an argument.

definitely 245's but iffy on the 35 series. Might have to consider a 40 due to the stretch.

It's almost as RETARDED as the "Aggressive Wheels" thread

That should be renamed the " how to jack up your car to get stupid wheels to fit" Thread

If people don't agree with a certain look or post, they just shouldn't post. No one cares about your opinion. Why would you ever post in the "will it fit thread" or "AWFT" if you're not into it? Do you not care about your own time or effort? Get lives.

The corollary of that is if you don't care about people not caring, quit posting about it.

Basically so people have alternatives that fit.... not things that have no hope of working in a functional way

I am looking to install 245/35/19 's on my 8... Those are the specs for the front set i believe, the back set is a bit bigger. These wheels came off of an m6 '07. Has anyone tried this size or have any information regarding it, i'd greatly appreciate it. I am also new to the forum/rx8 culture so i apologize in advance for the newbiness!
