Will It Fit Thread
#9426
okay so I'm going with 18x9.5 +20 because the wheels i want only come in that offset. 245/40 18s should work a roll is what i was told before, i won't have my new suspension til the first week of May. is this too aggressive of an offset or should i go with a smaller tire

Looking at NT03+M's. Oddly, I can only find pics of the 18x9.5 et27 on an RX8, which fits but seems like a bit of a tough row in terms of fitment. Seems to poke a bit with a wider tire. I've found pics of the 18x9.5 et40 on other cars (S2K, EVO, WRX, FR-S) and the overall look of the et40 is very close to the et27 in terms of lip. Doesn't look sunk at all. Wondering what y'all think of the et40 with a 255 or 265 with maybe a 5mm or 10mm spacer later depending on how much room I have in the fender. I'm not against a roll but I don't want to pull, trim tabs, or have to run non-functional ride heights, camber, etc. I've seen the RPF1's in et45 and want a bit more aggressive fitment than that. The et38 RP03's are about right which is why I'm thinking the et40 in the NT03+M's with a 5mm spacer would be the ticket. Thoughts? Car will be on shortened body FCM coilovers by the time wheels go on.

20x10 +45 all around?
Relatively new 8 owner here and been snooping around here. I always search first and then of course the questions are already answered. Here's a new one:
20x10 wheels, +45 offset
^^ Will it fit all around my '07 Rx-8 with:
Also tire sizes, should be all the same, or a narrower on front for fitment reasons? I'm thinking Nitto NT555 @ 275 30 20. Should I use narrower and stretch ?
I don't want to pull the fenders.
In the Wheel fitment thread, it is stated that there is really no reason for staggered wheels.
I'm also aware of all the opinions of the drawbacks of 20's on an 8.
Any feedback is appreciated.

- rolled and trimmed fenders
- 1.5" coil drop (car seems already dropped 1 - 1.5")
- some negative camber as necessary, hoping to keep it under 2.5

It is currently sitting on it's factory 18" wheels and tires, and yes the car seems about 1.5" lower than stock. The rear tires are sitting within the fender a little.

I understand larger diameter wheels slow the car, this can be said for all cars. It's getting a garrett gt35r turbo system soon.

Instead of guessing it is lower, actually look at the struts/springs. I've seen plenty of stock cars look low because of worn out suspension components.

Now just need input on the 20x10 +45 on front. Will it fit with rolled fender lips? And what size tire should I use?

New suspension will drop me about 1.5 inches all around, slightly less in the rear, this fitment stuff just isn't making sense to me for some reason, (to many numbers/little brain) I'm not looking for anything crazy, just a good clean look, wanting to keep the 18" and keep it as sticky to the road as possible what sizes should I be looking for?

How about some 18x9, offset range between 35+ to +45, and 245/40R18 tires?
You could also go with 18x9.5, offset range between +40 to +50, with 265/35R18 tires.
No fender modifications required for either option. You can also check out this thread for help understanding:

After 5 months with my new 8 I finally have the funds to buy my car a new set of shoes!
Way back on page 362 of this thread J863521 gave me some good advice on my ideal set-up… 18 x 8.75 +35 XXR 527's with 24/40/18 rubber all the way around (on S-Techs). Then I saw Pieper run 18 x 9.75 +20 all the way around and it made me think…. "What else could I get away with?"
So now that I am ready to buy I am having some serious buyers anxiety. I saw that these wheels come in:
18 x 8.75 +35 and +20
18 x 9.75 +35 and +20
Due to the unusual width of these wheels I don't know which way to go. Are 8.75 too narrow.. or are 9.75 too wide for the front for a stock 8? I scoured every single posts since my last one and haven't found any answers to cure my curiosity.
My goals are to select the most concave wheel, and make the wheels as flush as possible without the need for rolling my fenders.
So what would the ideal set-up be given the four wheel size options? Thanks fellas.

I'm running 265/40/18 on 18x9.5 +45 square RPF1's and want to install some Tein S-Tech springs on OEM shocks. I have an Autoexe Front with Mazdaspeed sides and am pretty sure everything will fit just fine, but need clarification. Thanks

mTheory, I would think the wider wheels with the +35 might might get you closest to the look you want with the least work to prevent rubbing. Maybe some slight camber and some taps with the rubber mallet.
