Will It Fit Thread

Since most of the threads in this sub-forum are questions based on "will these rims fit with this setup". Itll be easier to just answer all the questions in one thread.

Ill update this first post with links to basic explanations on how wheels sizes and offsets work. That alone should answer 90% of the questions, but it wont because its easier to post it rather than doing the research first.

Nonetheless... please just post up

Wheel Diameter (F/R)
Wheel Width (F/R)
Wheel Offset (F/R)
Suspensions Changes (i.e. - how low are you dropped. If you have coilovers... you dont need to post this as you can just adjust it after you get your wheels on.

So For Example:
F: 19X10 +28
R: 19X9 +30

Also if you like, if you have a set of tires in mind.. post up the specs to that as well
(W/P/D)

EX:
F: 235/35/19
R: 265/30/19

Many times its possible to make an aggressive wheel fit, by using an equally aggressive tire combination. Obviously this is very dangerous, more likely to lead to your tire exploding, and less protection from potholes and curb damage... but it looks so jDm!!!!

And on this note, please stop PMing me your wheel/tire questions. Just post it here, and those who know... can chime in with the info you are looking for.

Thanks :)

I guess ill go first....

How about 19X9.5 all around with a 45-48mm offset....Stock height stock brakes...

"will these rims fit...?"

TragicallyHip 12-18-2007 08:30 PM

F: 18x8.5 +35 (Option 1)
F: 18x9.5 +35 (Option 2)
R: 18x9.5 +35

Tires on those rims would be:
F: 235/40-18 (Option 1)
F: 275/35-18 (Option 2)
R: 275/35-18

ALRIGHT - our first victim.... err i mean participant.

The rear will be tucked in a bit by about 1/4" from the fender, but other than that there should be very minimal issues. Definetely wont need a fender roll.

The front will probably fit as well, but you are chancing rubbing on the inner fender when turning the wheels. Ooh, and on this first example... you maybe able to get away with this by running a stretched tire upfront. You wont need anything two agressive, but just a 255/35/19 should work.

If possible... test fit the rear wheels on the front, before buying all 4.
Althought, i would think its better to get a different setup.

I maybe wrong about the front wheels, so we'll see what other say. Possibly those who have tried this themselves.

Option 2 sounds similar to the RPF1 setup everyone is running. Should be fine.

Option 1 will work as well... but your front wheel will be sitting .5" fruther in then the rear wheel (i.e. not flush)

ok...my turn...

Will these fit....?

19x9 offset 25 front
19x10 offset 25 rear

Im guessing id have to run some major negative rear camber to get it to fit.... Definately need to roll the fenders right....

tyre wise im thinking

235/35/19 front
275/30/19 rear

It will fit, but itll look like poo. Sunken Battleship Rims especially when aftermarket... not a good idea. I suggest bringing them about by at least 25mm.

TragicallyHip 12-19-2007 07:23 PM

OK, so I NEED to make up my mind tonight on what I am going to do about rims/tires...

Big-O, I know you said that the 275/35-18's sounded similar to the RPF1 setup everyone is using, but mine are +35 while they are all running +45... I DO NOT want to have to roll my fenders, so i'm nervous to go with the 275's...

I need to know if 18x9.5 in 275/35-18 (+35) will fit FOR SURE in the rear without rubbing...

If not, I need to know the widest I can go in the rear with a +35 offset, on an 18x9.5 rim... AND NOT rub.... I only have until Friday to make my order :(
