I want to know if it would be ok or what are the cons/pros to running this set up- mb battles front-225/45/17 rear 255/35/18. The car is sitting on koni yellows with Megan springs.

they will fit but that tire would be even smaller then the OEM which is 225/45
also, your speedometer will be off by 1.4%

I for one would never run anything less then 225's on 18x8 wheels for this car.

I know they are smaller, but tirerack has a good deal on a tire that is that is 215/45/18. i know the speedometer will be off, but are there any other adverse effects i need to worry about?

less tire touching the road could mean less grip.
Keep in mind most guys get larger tires on the 18x8 (245 is a popular choice)

yea these are just winter tires, i've also heard narrower wheels help cut through the snow though?

I live in Southern California; I have no clue when it comes to "winter tires" and "snow"
these are foreign concepts for us.

haha you lucky man, well thanks for the input, just wanted to make sure 215 wasn't too narrow for an 8" rim

check the tire manufacturer's website, most will list recommendations for wheel sizes.

besides, if I do want to drive in the snow, I just need to go an hour North and take my AWD BMW

Generally, according to TireRack, 215's will only fit up to a 7.5" rim. I just ordered 215/55's and it said in big bold letters "WILL NOT FIT 8" RIMS". But I could be wrong.

Try 245/40/18 F/R.

hey guys quick question but as of now im about to be sponsor by this new rim brand and as i was told the offset are gonna be really low when i get the full info on the offset ill keep you guys update but would you guys think this would fit or have any problems or what should i do to make this fit. Photoshoot aswell! oh also should i get coilover if i do this???

Front- 20x9
Rear- 20x10.5

and i think the bolt pattern are either 5x114, 5x112 or 5x120?

you need 5x114.3; nothing else fits our car
as for the rest, without knowing offsets the wheel size is WORTHLESS in determining whether it will fit but I will tell you this:

20x9 up front: shouldn't be too difficult
20x10.5 with a "really low" offset = FAIL. wont' fit or even if you do get it to fit by pulling the fenders, the fenders will end up looking like **** like so many other members here who have had theirs pulled.

I trust the force, but, have a bad case of C.B.D. (cheap bastard disease) . I found a great deal on 255/45R18XL Falken's I'd like to throw on the back. I have stock suspension, brakes, and wheels (2004). I know everyone wants rims as big as tires but I'm thinking a little more sidewall may help with the crappy roads around here. Eye balling the rear fender clearance, I think these will go no problem. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks!

From what I have read this seems like it would run fine. 265/35 on 18x9 with +40mm offset all around


I am planning on lowering it on some Eibach coil overs.

I ran Falken 245/40/18's on a rather dropped Rx8 for a few autocross days, had no issued. Hell, even at max drop on my coils, I was bottoming out on the road before I ran into any tire issued. (Raised that ground clearance after one trip, haha.)



No rub with that drop, on autocross days, so you'll be fine with 255's stock.

Meanwhile, I found an awesome deal on some new track wheels with a +45 offset(Ew, I know, but they're wide enough to fit 285's for next season.)

Ugh, so many pages to read through, and I'm feeling lazy right now...
