No rub with that drop, on autocross days, so you'll be fine with 255's stock.

Meanwhile, I found an awesome deal on some new track wheels with a +45 offset(Ew, I know, but they're wide enough to fit 285's for next season.)

Ugh, so many pages to read through, and I'm feeling lazy right now...

You have no idea what you're talking about. It's the 45 he is worried about, not the 255.

Yep, the 45 will be a little taller. It sounds like addict went way lower then I'd ever consider going. Looking at the tire calculator, it seems that the taller tire will correct my speedo being off by 2

I guess I'll get them then decide if I can get spacers and how much to lower later. I like the offset (or fatter tire in the back) look.

I am looking at possibly selling off my R3 wheels and spacers and getting a set of 18x10 forgestars all the way around. In my research I have seen that they seem to fit fine with no mods in a +42 with 265/35 tire. Is there a way to get a 275/35 on there without rolling/trimming? Sitting on PSS9s with 15mm spacers, sig pic is current. Just looking for a close to flush fitment with no mods, or maybe a fender roll at most. Thanks for looking. I haven't found an answer to this specifically.

I have a question that sort of relates to this thread I believe.

I am getting a winter set of rims and tires they are g35 rims like rotary rx8 has but they have 245/45/18 for tires on the rims.

I think I want to use to stockers for winter rims with the 245/45/18 tires and put my current tires 225/40/18 on the g35 rims for summer package.

Would I have any issues with this?

From what I've read, 245/40/18's are not a problem. You could get them on, then determine a spacer size so they look nice and close to the fenders. I don't know if guys have a formula for figuring out the spacing/offset. If you go with taller tires and lower it with spacers, you may have a rubbing issue with the inner fender plastic. A guy put that combo on stock rims with 25mm spacers and it looked great! It did rub sometimes... I'm a new owner but have been reading alot. I just finished the heater control repair

Good Luck.

Youll be fine. The g35 rims are 18x8 +30 .. the same as stock rx8 rims except the offset is +30 instead of +50. Therefore the stock tire size will be fine on the g rims.

You don't want 245/45/18 if you are lowered.......or ever really.

Will this work 265/35 on 18x9 with a +35?

I will lower it about 1 inch, possibly more.
Thanks everyone

Someone put together a tire fitment calculator on RX7club, anyone think they could do the same thing for the RX8? It's pretty basic, you just input wheel size/offset and the tire size you want to run and it lets you know if it will fit with the stock suspension. Then there were some other options like rolled fenders, coilovers, etc. I don't remember where it was posted because I downloaded it awhile back.

This just seems like a HUGE cluster of information is all, not really as useful as it seems like it could be.

And here I thought the fronts would rub. So do you think minor fender rolling and/or extreme camber

18" Wheel on 2009, 2010 or 2011 RX-8 R3

The tire rack selection computer claims that 18" rims will fit a sport or grand touring RX-8, but that no 18" wheel (at all!) will fit an R3. Is this correct, or is the tire rack just trying to sell 19" rims?

The Tire Rack's select by vehicle option claims that only 17", 19" and 20" wheels will fit on a 2011 RX-8 R3. What?? Is the Bilstien suspension that different from the sport and grand touring models? Why does a 17" fit when an 18" won't?

I am looking to buy a new R3, but I would like to use 18" wheels instead of the 19" set that comes with an R3. Specifically I would like to use an O.Z. Alleggerita HLT:

Size: 18x8
Offset: +48mm
Backspacing: 6.41"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size: 225/45-18
Weight: 17.0lbs.

With a 245/40-18 tire on all four corners. Incidentally, this wheel is listed as fitting on the 2011 sport and grand touring models.

Another option would be the Enkei Racing PF01:

Size: 18x9
Offset: 45mm
Backspacing: 6.73"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size: 245/40-18
Weight: 19.4lbs.

But the 9" width listed as only fitting on the rear, even for the sport and grand touring models, and it weighs 2 pounds more.

Any help or insights would be welcome.
