Theoretically speaking, how low and how cambered would one need to be to fit 18x8.5 0 offset with 245 40s? Obviously rolled fenders and shaved tabs to start, but think theoretical, i am not planning to do this just curious.

No, you shouldn't need an alignment. Your camber and toe stay the same but further out to the corners. Start lowering things and then you need an alignment because those geometries be changin' yo.

I guess it would put you just a few mm out past where I am without the slight tire stretch. I rolled my fenders a bit and still have some room so I'm guessing it would work out okay. Maybe a little of the cambers.

Yep on the stech daddies. I am on 18x9.75 +20. I rolled and trimmed as a precaution and maybe a bit because I was bored. 245/40s. I almost feel like I could go to a 255 or 265/35. We will see when I get the coilover moneys together.

Yeah, it is possible with modification......don't think anyone here, including me, would recommend that.

Why would you want to run 8" wide wheels with a 0 offset? Have some used Cragars off another car?

Fronts are easy but rear will need 265s to look good. I have the same fitment in 18s and had to trim my rear bumper tab + roll fenders. I'm much lower than tein springs though. It will probably look like crap until you go lowwwww

245/35f 265/30r is my suggestion. 265/35/19 should work too

Hi guys ive been reading through the posts and my head is hurting from all the information.............lol

So here goes,i have recently bought a 40th Anniversary RX8 in Crystal White Pearl...............

I have ordered Tein S springs and im now looking at fitting these wheels,so any help would be greatly appreciated......was thinking same size rims all round and 225/45/18 front and 245/40/18 rear or 255/35/18s?

Rim Size: 18" PCD: 5 x 114.3

Size Width: 9.5"

Offset: 35mm Ultralite Hikari in gold with stainless lip....

I dont want to start rolling arches if at all possible.....

Many thanks guys from a cold and wet day in Ireland

you're fine with 245 or 255, no roll needed.

yep.....don't put 225/45/18 on your 9.5" wide wheels. 245 or 255 will be much better, even on the front.

I know this is a stupid question, but what is the most (width) tire size that you could put on a oem rx8 wheels? No spacers, just lowered sunk...without hitting the fender...

I think I've seen some of the autocross guys fit 285s or 295s on stock wheels but I'm not sure if they are doing fender work.

That's crazy excessive for the stock wheel. I wouldn't recommend anything over 255, and even that's pushing it I believe.
