tdiddy's turbo thread
We seem to be on parallel install tracks right now. I've just made an Oil filter relocation unit...and am dealing with the OMP issue.
Good luck on the install......and keep posting pictures

It was sarcastic. He was trying to get me to bite. It was actually my idea to mount it there but we had issues with the hoses fitting between the firewall and the UIM at first.
Yeah, tdiddy is putting a lot of time and hard work into this. We should be thankful for his efforts and his sharing them here.
Plus he fed me pizza for doing no more than heat-wrapping his downpipe, so i think he is pretty cool

I don't have any updates other than I got the Mazsport Ignition installed last week. I ordered a bunch of T-Bolt clamps, some heat shielding, and a couple of fittings on Friday. Hopefully everything gets here before this weekend because I should have 3 days to work on putting the finishing touches on turbo install.
I sent my Ultimate wiring harness to MazdaManiac last week so that he could check all my wiring changes. Once I get that back I will install my EMU, boost controller, gauges, and wideband.

Things took a huge step forward yesterday. I installed the turbo, downpipe, wastegate, heat shielding, intercooler, all the tubing except for the MAF housing, water cooling lines, and the oil feed/return lines.
I don't have my camera so I can't take any pictures but it is looking great. I need to get a couple more parts this week but everything points to having the install finished by the end of the month.

Yeah! Its still pretty cold here and I have not put insurance back on the car yet but every nice, sunny day I think about getting the car out and going for a drive.
I still need to install the exhaust, guages, wideband, and boost controller. Speaking of the boost controller, I might hit you up for a crash course in setting it up and adjusting it. You seem to be pretty good at using the Profec II.

I may move it to the oil sending unit when my new 1/8" BSPT to 1/8" NPT fitting comes in. Its about 1" too short to route it like I want. I will just see how it goes.
Yes, I don't like it right now either. But thats whats nice about a top mount turbo, you can change things in a couple of minutes.
Ray - the 90-degree fitting is the plan but I am going to get it started first then make the minor cosmetic changes.

But I do plan to GOOOOO before then.
Looks kick *** man, I'm jealous and wish I had all my parts already...
It looks very professional and fits in like it belongs there in the first place. I don't know how you have the restraint to not take it out and rev it a few times

Its pretty easy right now because I have no engine management and I am still waiting on PTP to get me a 3.5" MAF tube. I try to not think about starting it and I don't even consider reving it.
Keep us posted about HIN. I've never attended one of those as they seem targeted to a bit younger demographic than me, but I'd come out to support you. And I hear the models are hot too
