Yeah, that would be a problem.

Yes, I knew it was a little off. The welder didn't follow my instructions very well. I have 1 piece of pipe left so I will try to remove the MAF mount and weld it onto another pipe, again. This is seriously the last time I will mess with this damn MAF tube.

Yeah I would def try screen both after the MAF tube and directly before the compressor. The turbulence is being generated by the turbo not the piping before the MAF as much.

Shouldn't you recirc to before the MAF not after?

After is correct since the air has already been metered.

I thought you only recirc at zero to very light throttle so why would it mater where you put it ?
I have no clue - just like to some debate going ......

if the air didn't need to be metered, we wouldn't be recirculating it in the first place!

In a draw-through system, recirculating the air AFTER the MAF causes the volume of air being metered to be lower during periods of recirculation, thus less fuel being injected.

I have been wondering if it really makes any difference if I recirculate or not in my case. The air coming out of the BOV is probably going to mess with my MAF because the recirc is soo close to the MAF and to the turbo inlet that there is no place for all that air to go. What do you guys think?

Also, you want to recirculate after the MAF. The point is that the air has already been metered by the MAF and you will get a temporary rich condition if that air doesn't make it into the combustion chamber.

Well, the AP says its trying to add 19% with the STFT. I think the only way that could be the injectors is if they were not connected at all and I know thats not the case. I hope its the injectors. Thats and easy fix.

I know it's been said before but your issues sound too much like mine way back when and your numbers are just like mine were when they were happening. If you verified the injector harness......

Wasn't your car trying to pull 22% of the fuel with the trims? The secondary injectors are 380cc and the primary injectors are 290cc which is 22% larger?

Anyway, my car basically ran properly when I installed the screen between the MAF and the turbo. I still put my money on the intake/MAF tube/turbo setup.

I got the screens installed tonight but just as I went to start the car it started raining like crazy. Hopefully I can test it out tomorrow.

recirc....i would say it makes a difference because predictable results and consistency in your readings is something you aim to shoot for...

ideally you would have the air come back in to the system after the MAF and far enough away not to mess with it too much...i have started to wonder if mounting the bov screened and at a 45 degree angle to the flow would be a better idea to do...

something you could also do...which i did back in the day was intentionally design the system so the bov had extra plumbing for the sudden increase...giving the air somewhere to fill up...it added some wackyness to the engine bay since it was so tight...

BTW: dont listen to me...i dont know what the hell im saying...heh

A BOV expansion chamber, eh?

Consider yourself duly ignored, Sir!

Yeah...what I didn't say was that I was intentionally trying to add lag to alleviate traction issues off the line...

I know this is probably a stupid idea, buy why not just add traction?
