if you're running the same flash with injector scaling as Jeff gave me, the fuel map is very very safe. It's overly rich in fact. You should be able to play around without risk of engine damage. The car is still a rocket.

Make sure you take some video footage! I enjoy videos (especially before I was turbo - so I could drool over the TC cars), but too few seem to make them.

If my engine survived the nonsense I went through with my trevails, I am sure yours will be fine too.

Injector Twin powers.......activate!! Shape of......a 350 rwhp RX-8.
I'm pretty sure he gave me the right scaling.

I took one of the first startup but I am a little affraid to post it because I probably look like an idiot running around looking at everything making sure its not leaking, telling my wife what to do, ect... Plus my son is screaming in the background.

Remember, I was going to run 290/380/1000 injectors until we discussed it via PM and decided that the 380/380/720 setup was going to be more common and easier to share tunes and such. This was last October/November so, I don't blame you if you don't remember. Hell, I don't remember things I said or did yesterday. Let alone, 6 months ago.

hehe. Jeff told me 720's were good, so I went with whatever he said. I'm a little suspicious that he isn't using 720 though.

Just kidding.

It looks like things should be OK to take it for a little spin and see what happens with the flash. The STFT is still all over the place but I got it good and warm. Still smokes like crazy but that should go away eventually. I had a little too much coolant in the air seperator and it overflowed just a little. Too bad I am leaving for the weekend tomorrow or I would take it out for a spin (weather permitting). Hopefully Sunday or Monday evening. Still have a couple of minor things to do like putting the bumper on and clear corners back in but...

Its running!!!!

I took the car out for the first time tonight. I made it a total of about 10 blocks and the car died at least 5 times. I just wrote MazdaManiac but I think it is running really rich. I saw 10 on my AFR gauge at one point. I am still running the first of his turbo maps (V3_0) because I have not driven it far enuff to let the fuel trims settle.

The reason I haven't driven it very far is because it is smoking like crazy when it warms up but it won't idle very well so I can't really let it get good and hot without driving it. Tonight the smoke got soo bad I had to roll the windows down and I almost pulled over to see if it was on fire. The vacuum readings look pretty good. I have not taken it over 4500 rpm yet and never over a calculated load of 35%. I thought I heard some compressor surge at one point but I don't know what it was yet. Could have been the BOV.

I plan to try and go out for another drive tomorrow once I hear back from MazdaManiac. I am taking it really slow because of all the changes. If something doesn't look or sound right I am going to bring it directly home, shut it down, and check it out. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Hmmm, that's odd. How does it idle? Did you try flashing some of the other supplied maps?

After it warms up, the Idle is getting better but it still fluctuates and dies every so often. No, I didn't try another map yet. I thought I was supposed to load this one and drive it a while to see what the LTFT settles at but I am too big of a ***** to drive it that far.

I have started it 5 times mostly letting it idle in the garage. Yesterday was the first time I took it for short drive (3-4 miles). My LTFT is still zero. I plan to take it for another short drive (7-10 miles) tonight if the weather holds. Hopefully the LTFT starts moving soon so that I know what map to go with next.

If your LTFT is zero and your STFT at idle stays below "4" +/-, they you should be alright.
Stalling is probably a vacuum leak.

My LTFT is zero because I have only driven it ~3 miles since I flashed it. I will datalog it tomorrow from a cold start until it warms up.

Need current pics of the thing!
None of your pics show it complete.
I want to see where the MAF is, how the air path works, etc.

The 1st & 2nd pics are the MAF.

The 3rd pic is the VFAD nipple. I have a "T" (4th pic) in this line. I get the signal for my BOV and the signal for my fuel pump pressure regulator.

The 5th pic is of the nipple where vacuum canister gets its signal from the UIM. I have a "T" in this line. One side goes to the vacuum canister. The other side goes to another "T" where the boost controller and boost gauge get their signal.

The wastegate and boost controller are run from the compressor outlet. Not pictured.

Here is a pic of the "T" for the boost controller and boost gauge. I still need to put the zip ties on this connection.

Looks very nice, can't wait till you get to dyno. Hopefully you can get to 375 or maybe a little more reliably

I'm moving a little slow on my PTP setup because we have a going over budget no overtime in effect at work right now. The funds have slowed a bit for a while, but once it starts back up the purchasing will resume and 375 rwhp is the goal.
