slash128's Top Mount Build
I checked out your setup on the EVO forum, very nice!
Correct, no boost controller. I had a TorboSX HP MBC, but found I got better performance with just 15lbs of spring and no BC. I am leaving it where it is for daily, don't feel like swapping springs. Technically I do have a boost controller, the gas pedal. I just go easy for the most part, then punch it when I want to put a smile on my face

The original dyno I was using was definitely optimistic . After finding this out I went to a dyno that my engine builder recommended as being more realistic.
The numbers I got on this dyno were down (in real terms)on what I achieved on the local (optimistic) dyno. If I dynoed on my local one I have no doubt I'd be up close to 400.
However, I'll hang my hat on 350+whp for my setup all day everyday .

What trap speed do people want to see? 105? 110+?
weight w/driver: 3200 lbs
trap speed in MPH: 105
WHP: 251

Congrats with the success slash, glad things have turned out good after the whole negative experience getting into the FI'd world most owners would have quit. Glad you stuck with it.
Thanks Gregs! Truth be told, if it wasn't for the negative experience I don't know that I would have been so motivated.
So seeing that the dialogue has changed from "dyno or it didn't happen" to "1/4 mile time/trap speed or it didn't happen"
what does a power to speed comparison look like for our cars? I am curious to see. Maybe I can get to the strip this summer...

I'm still pretty amazed with what you have managed to achieve with a stock block !
60ft, 1/8 ect...
I will add, though, that personally I think I'd be less pissed about a blown engine that was the result of no ill intention, vs the outright raping of someone taking my money and playing me for the fool. But I've not been in any other situation but my own, so I can't say for sure how it is to walk in anyone else's shoes. Just my 2 cent perspective. And I have the utmost respect for you and your accomplishments and advice!

Fair enough

It was from a calculator.
+1!
I do not think a benchmark has been set for boosted 8s which is why I was asking what trap speed are folks looking for.
Agreed. Plus several other things. Like properly running boosted 8s with people that know how to drive and are willing to put their car through a beating.

In summary: I handed over $6500 for his "kit" only to be met with months of lies, broken promises and eventually a big pile of metal garbage. After a 10 month battle I did finally got my money back via credit card dispute. It was ugly, however I feel vindicated now
Ah ... I remember all that now .
I mistook your early complaints as someone who had got in over their head as happens so often around here .
Yes , I think you can feel vindicated

My current build has been relatively painless and quite fun. It's been a work in progress that I started Dec 2013. It's based on the PTP kit, so of anyone wants to replicate I'm happy to share.
I checked at the start of this thread, and on the Overlords sticky, but can't find a summary of your build details (I know most details are spread over the previous 25 pages of this thread...).
Are you able to provide a brief summary of all the changes/parts you have in your current build as at the time of the dyno? Given your figures it'd be good to identify any specific factors that have given you such success (apart from your obvious methodic execution and stickability).
