I checked out your setup on the EVO forum, very nice!

I am just jerking your chain but really I don't believe dynos at all really unless I see other vehicles done at the same time, and even then it's still just numbers on a screen. What cannot be fibbed though are 1/4 mile times, etc. I can't wait to get some video locally of our different setups.

driver mod is the biggest factor in 1/4time. The car can do well but really excel with the right driver/seat time.

Yeah, depending on the car. Some cars are easy to run consistent times in. I look forward to driving other turbo 8's on the strip.

Congrats with the success slash, glad things have turned out good after the whole negative experience getting into the FI'd world most owners would have quit. Glad you stuck with it.

Thanks Gregs! Truth be told, if it wasn't for the negative experience I don't know that I would have been so motivated.

So seeing that the dialogue has changed from "dyno or it didn't happen" to "1/4 mile time/trap speed or it didn't happen" what does a power to speed comparison look like for our cars? I am curious to see. Maybe I can get to the strip this summer...

You haven't had a lot of the drama most of the rest of us have had with blown engines etc . though .
I'm still pretty amazed with what you have managed to achieve with a stock block !

Fair enough I will add, though, that personally I think I'd be less pissed about a blown engine that was the result of no ill intention, vs the outright raping of someone taking my money and playing me for the fool. But I've not been in any other situation but my own, so I can't say for sure how it is to walk in anyone else's shoes. Just my 2 cent perspective. And I have the utmost respect for you and your accomplishments and advice!

I do not think a benchmark has been set for boosted 8s which is why I was asking what trap speed are folks looking for.

Agreed. Plus several other things. Like properly running boosted 8s with people that know how to drive and are willing to put their car through a beating.

I don't want to rehash it all here, it's in this thread for anyone interested:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-maj...system-233417/

In summary: I handed over $6500 for his "kit" only to be met with months of lies, broken promises and eventually a big pile of metal garbage. After a 10 month battle I did finally got my money back via credit card dispute. It was ugly, however I feel vindicated now

Ah ... I remember all that now .
I mistook your early complaints as someone who had got in over their head as happens so often around here .
Yes , I think you can feel vindicated

My current build has been relatively painless and quite fun. It's been a work in progress that I started Dec 2013. It's based on the PTP kit, so of anyone wants to replicate I'm happy to share.

I checked at the start of this thread, and on the Overlords sticky, but can't find a summary of your build details (I know most details are spread over the previous 25 pages of this thread...).

Are you able to provide a brief summary of all the changes/parts you have in your current build as at the time of the dyno? Given your figures it'd be good to identify any specific factors that have given you such success (apart from your obvious methodic execution and stickability).
