To run the A/C or Not to run the A/C. That is the question.

Today I ran the car and buttoned up everything before Sunday’s track day at Sebring. I decided to monitor my ECT on a 7 miles flat (what else, I live in Central Florida) stretch county road. The weather conditions were as follow. Overcast sky, ambient temp 87F, humidity 61%, dew point 72F and few feet above sea level.

Driving at 73 mph A/C at full blast my ECT were 198~200 soon after the first mile and stayed there throughout the drive. I got to the seven miles mark, stopped for about a minute and headed back with the A/C off. Again, driving at 73 mph my ECT were 183~185F. Around 15 degrees difference just by turning the A/C off.

On my way back to the house I had to stop at a RR crossing for about 4~6 minutes in front of the line. A/C on and just sitting there idling with my vented hood ECT 196~198F.

Just to refresh the peanut gallery. I run a mazmart water pump/thermostat combo. 10% coolant mixture with secondary radiator. BHR aluminum radiator and plenty of waterweter. OEM fans kick on at 180F (full blast) and an extra electric push electric fan mounted in front of the supercharger heat exchanger.

Got to love the humidity in Central Florida.

to help lowering the temps, I put a 10"fan instead of the battery, it pull the heat up to the vented hood (I have the veilside one)

On the open road my a/c does not affect my ect? Dont know???
Watch your temps close at the track this sunday. You are still taking yours to 9K---right?
prosport has a neat gauge out now--water temp with auto and visual warning--you can set it for any temp you want. Its $90 which is really good for those kind of features

Well, I went to give my car a bath the other day and noticed a little dip in one spot in the paint. I looked around the car and noticed about 10 or more, ****. It seems the acorns this year are about twice the size. My poor car, I'm pissed, upset and feel like killing the friggen tree rats. I got something for rodent elimination.

Another Ruger 10/22?

I like that stock better than mine, I went with the Green Mountain target barrel, rubberized Butler Creek stock and Jim Clark trigger.

/shoots dimes easily at 100 yards

Yup, 25 rounds through a dime size hole at 100 yards. I don’t consent to the elimination of furry woodland creatures but the ******* squirrels have been terrorizing the place tossing acorns at our cars and my buddies on purpose. I say this because there's no trees directly over were I park my car and we've had a few direct hits to our heads. When you look up half knocked out you see the little sucker in the tree and swear he's laughing.

It tryed to pull the walk on water trick and failed. Bet you got a great deal on that. So what's the plan, if it were me id turn that into your track car. Strip it out and simplify everything and make it easy to work on. Go through the whole harness and get rid of all the un needed miles of wire. Add your rollcage get rid of all the crap like your windows and interior crap. I'm sure you can sell that all to recover a few dollers. Just keep what you need and I'm sure you could lighten that puppy a lot.

Ha Ha---cool pic --but that is not the one I bought.
Mine is an 09 R3 model ( recardo seats etc !!!) with 9 K miles on it. The water did not reach the seats, engine cranks but will not start (security module?), all lights work, no water in fluids. Carpet doesnt smell. No body damage.
If i told you the price you would think i am lying.
Stay tuned.

ha! I have a wonderful wife--shes cool with this.
dont know what i may end up doing?
I wonder if i could put my motor and ecu into the 09? Some one PLEASE tell me "NO".
No water in engine--trans diff fluids good--water did not get high enough to touch the upholstery.
Engine turns over with starter, will not start, all lights works, dash lights work, i didnt ask about the remote but i will tomorrow. If the remote works then that will be a REAL good thing. Repeat only 9K miles on this car.
I must have been a real good boy---
