For the oil temp gauge you need the ProSport M20 oil temp/press adaptor plate that installed inbetween your oil filter and the connection. You will need a 26mm (1 inch) socket and a long extension to install it. The ProSport adaptor comes with 4 threaded hex head bolts so you can plug the passages. You'll only use one sensor so you'll need to plug 3 of the 4 holes. I recommend installing the sensor prior to installing the adaptor- it's a tight fit back there.
Hey Flashwing- nice you installed the hoods. I thought about that but thought it would look weird. At least we don't match!

someone else just mentioned it, and I was curious too, those gauge hoods, they come with the ProSports? B/C I like them, and it might help make them easier to see in the daytime.
Also, some of the night shots, the gauge numbering is white, somewhere in this thread, I read that it was almost the same red as the stock night lights. Can they be set to either white or red?
TIA.

I have this all set up in my car now (pics coming soon). Yes my ProSport gauges came with the hoods, I didn't use them but I do think it would help with daytime visability.
I should mention that I have the regular "performance" gauges not the "premium" peak and warning gauges, but I have them wired for white light during the day and red at night, the color matches very well.

I too just ordered my lotek pod (ebay 39.99, how can you beat it!). I am anticipating purchasing the Amber cheapie gauges from prosport: water temp, oil temp and oil pressure. Unfortunately they are all out of stock right now. In my parousing of ebay I took a peek at the glowshift gauges. I've seen in my searches people have bought the glowshift gauges, I haven't however seen any posts regarding peoples impressions of them. I'm probably just going to wait for the prosport, but if anyone does have an opinion on the glowshift gauges, please share it with me.

Wait for prosport gauges you won't be disappointed. I have seen glowshift gauges and thought they were cheezy. Prosport gauges are a very good quality knock off of the Delphi gauges in my opinion and won't leave a deep hole in your pocket. Even though they are out of stock you can still order them. The longer you wait to order the further down the list you will be. They ship very quick once the gauges arrive.

I just got my prosport gauges from "Twos R us". Here's the link:
http://www.twosrus.com/
Prices include shipping. I know the guy (Dave) personally from my MR-2 days. Great service and quick too. Give him a call or e-mail to verify he has it in stock (he did last week).

Yeah I had some trouble getting the gauges to seat correctly with the hoods. I can't say I forces them in there but mounted them so that they sit without any problems.
I also wired in the gauges in such that they change from white to amber with the running light/headlights on. I tapped the lighter wiring for power and the light in both instances.

you can get the fittings at Lowes or Home Depot or any hardware store. Get a 3/8" to 1/8" brass reducer. Wrap in Teflon tape prior to install. You will need two reducers.
Don't worry about the wiring. I had a struggle but eventually found out I had a faulty ground. They are rather easy to wire. Let us know if you have questions on the wiring.

I just ordered the pod plus the gauges from prosport. Can anyone link me the directions on how to remove the top panel of the center console? I searched and only found one useful link but it only covers the removal of the ash try + radio.

the bukkake master!
heres a rough way to do it i couldnt find another one but im sure theres one around. i think its only a few screws after the radio comes out. it might be covered later in this thread but i didnt go through it all ... https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-mp3-factory-head-unit-removal-install-7644/

Thanks. I found this site, http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/1.php, that shows the same thing but with more details but again those two guides stop at the radio. But if I understand you correctly, its a few more screws to remove the AC vents and then the top cover.
Oh btw, I ordered the regular amber/white performance set instead of the premium set of gauges from ProSport. I hope they look just as good. I dont think they come with the daisy chain link so can I just hook up the power lines in parallel?
