+ $7 for OEM finish. That's not bad at all! Post pics when you get them installed.

This is the pod I lobbied to get made. I had a thread that got shut down about it. The guy is sending me the prototype for fitment. It isn't for sale yet, but it will be soon.
And it's also $150 including 3 gauges, or $44.99 w/out gauges

Wow, that is great!!! Can't wait to see it mounted but **** fro that price I'll risk it. What type of guages will be in it? I never understood why the RB pod was so damn expensive.

he will include some gauges he has made. They aren't that awesome IMO, but they do work. You can see pics of the gauges on his website.
I am probably going to use some AutoMeter Sport Comp 2 or AutoMeter carbon fiber series gauges when I get the prototype.

I know he has three diff boost gauges, oil press, oil temp, water temp, volts, EGT, AFR, and there are a few more I can't remember.
They are extremely plain-jane. Black gauge, black face, orange needle, white numbers. Short-sweep mechanical and some electrical.
I should have the proto anyday now and I'll post pics of it once I get it.

Impressive! And all the more so given we may actually be able to buy one at this very reasonable price. So many others efforts have fizzled. I can invision some nice guage sets... boost/EGT/A-F or A-F/EGT/oil-t ...

Wonder how much a replacement center cover is if we want to go back to stock after cutting to fit this?

keep us informed when you get your/others are available

The replacement panel is $89 from Mazda. So you don't need to worry about cutting your stock piece. He has assured me it's very easy and a 10-year old can do it with time and patience.
The only thing I wonder is if I can run mechanical gauges from the top of the dash? With the bigger sender cable and they the fact they can't turn tight radius'' worries me about routing them. But electric full-sweep gauges are so damn expensive! To fit with the Autometer Nexus series of gauges, which look killer and would perfectly match the interoir of the RX8, is $900 some bucks (with the required control modual). Defi gauges aren't much better. And even cheaper Autometer sport comp gauges are expensive in electric. So I wonder if mechanical gauges would have any problems being there?

I've been putting the Nexus gauges in my RB Gauge Pod and they are AWESOME. Definately worth the money. I had a issue, but their customer service is top notch. I've got the oil temp, oil pressure and coolant temp in there now, and I'd put boost, fuel pressure and A/F ratio in the Lotek.

Not too bad. I wonder if you can get guages tested prior to installation.

These are the ones I bought at Christmas time. Still haven't got a pod to put them in though. A friend of mine bought the same ones to put in his Viggen. They are pretty sweet. Pretty comparable to the Nexus series in function with the exception of the data logging. You don't need to buy the control box either with these.

How many people have ordered these pods? I just looked at the website and there is a note:

Note: Due to unexpected high demand, the RX-8 Dash Pod is sold out. ETA for shipping is 03/21/2007

I wonder if everyone was waiting for a pod to be readily available?
