Well I don't have the Bose system but from the pics I have seen it ends just before the speaker, so you don't have to touch the speaker and it is compadible with both types of cars (except Nav, of course).
I just measured it and the panel is roughly 1.5mm thick- just a little thicker than the thickness of a Dime, so there isn't much a "ridge" at the back. But you honestly can't even see that ridge unless you look through the windsheild- and it's possitioned as such that it looks like it's supposed to be there, ya know? I have no doubt people will think this is a factory option (those who don't know the RX-8's) once I have it installed!

Got my dash apart and the Lotek pod on the OEM piece. The silicone is curing as we speak.
I'm still waiting for the oil filter adapter to come in so I'll partially put it back together with the gauges installed and snap some pics and post them.
Now comes the joy of running the wiring and getting power to the gauges.

maybe bring the wire all the way down to the footwell..then go thru the firewall

Got a question though. For the Prosport gages the daytime color and nighttime color are determined by where you connect certain wires. For White for the daytime color you connect the white wire to the "ACC" and for Red (they call it amber in the schematic) at nighttime you connect the Orange wire to the "Parking Lamp". Any idea on where to tap into to get these?

Not to get off topic but... I showed a friend of mine these pics today at work. He thought they looked pretty sweet.
His other comment was, "You wish you were running that much boost in your car!"
