popping off ?
this just happened today and other than getting the cover out from under my feet I have not even looked ( other than searching here and on Google ). Does the cover just slip on or is this something I need to take to the dealer?
Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated!

The cover will most likely need to be glued back on, I would bring it back to the dealer that is way too new for an issue like that.
First things first! you need to hit redline daily even if it is just reving it to 9k a few times. That is paramount for your engines survival.

ok so when i try to put my car into number 1 on the stick, its really hard to put in and i have to push really hard but it makes this unbearable buzz/grind noise and when it goes in the car moves foreward a bit but shuts off, unless i do that while mashing the gas right after but then i burn out.
how do i get the car moving normally?

It sounds as though you aren't doing it right if you are there is a serious issue with your clutch/transmission.

Yes that should do it!
I'm not quite following what you are saying. I don't mean this to sound rude or anything but do you know how to properly drive a manual transmission?

Beat them in what way?
Hi all,
I was driving my 2010 stock RX8 along a nice twisty road here in northern california when I was passed by a 350Z that sounded really loud ( leading me to think it was not stock ). Anyway, I decided to get after it a bit just to see how much slower my car was and I was able to very quickly catch up and then push from behind a bit and I passed him on a long ( safeish- I could see for at least 3/4 of a mile ahead ). He was pissed and tried to push me from behind but my car just ate up the curves ( stock tires- dry road if it matters ) and he was soon long behind. At the end of the twisty I stopped for a bite at local place that caters to drivers of all kinds ( bikes, motorcycles, cars ) and the 350 parked next to my car and he was looking all over for my modifications- I went out and we chatted for a few and he said his car was really pushing him around when we were "racing". As you all know I was not being "pushed around" by my 8...
off the line no way but wonce things get rolling I think our cars are about the best ride around for the money.

Ok, I know most of the discussion I've read as much as possible since I've been a member of this thread (last year), but I had an oil related question. I've always ran 5w20 and I personally would (and will) run synthetic because I just want to. I have 83k (2004) and I'm on my second engine with about 3000k on it. Is it a bad idea to switch to synthetic at this point in time (royal purple) or is 3000k enough "break in" on the new engine? Thanks

I guess 3000 will do, just read some ish before about break in with seals and blah blah. I will go ahead and Make the switch. Thanks man
Ok sorry to ask. What is the difference between the 192 and 231 models in the UK is the 192 just restricted and can it be converted to a 231 easily or are the egnines a different build? If they are different is one engine noteably more relaible than the other?
Thanks
Thanks
Hey guys, glad to be back. I must add that this is my favorite thread on the forum haha. Anyways, my 8 has a spare tire kit and I decided to remove the tire (I know its dumb, but since its a factory option I'll just pretend that my car didn't come with it). I left the mounting bracket/bar in, because it's pretty much a rear stress bar as is. Although there's one problem; there's no place to mount the slime/compressor kit because the bottom of the bar is in the way. After further inspection I realized that with a slightly altered design they could both fit. My question is, does anybody make a "rear stress bar" that utilizes the spare mounting location while leaving room for the compressor box? I wouldn't mind fabricating one, I just dont want to do the work if there's one commercially available. I tried searching but didn't find anything. Sorry for the rant. Thanks again.

I`ve seen a few threads discussing what it would take to convert ... apparently a lot.
