Dumb Question Thread - no flaming or sarcasm allowed
basically once you start noticing bumps more and things get bouncy it's time for some new suspension. As for the mounts I'm assuming the same thing, that and when you can feel the motor shaking
Very rough estimate .... many variables at play with suspension.
However on the motor mounts ........ ummmmm ok on the early Series I there was motor mount issues and you should be aware this.....
But I thought they fixed this especially on the Series II ...
What about other production cars, how often does the question come up with any other car you've owned "How often do you replace motor mounts?"
What I'm saying is it's insanity that we should have to do them at all on the RX8 ... it's not like we have an engine with the torque of a small black hole?
Oh and sure it's hot in the engine bay ... but other cars fight this as well, especially turbo charged vehicles.
It's f'n bullshit is what it is .... and so is the dipstick location for a vehicle that needs constant monitoring of it's oil level ......
Ahhhhh now I'm in a bad mood.
More coffee
Mines bouncy and shaking all the time, it's kinda looks like this...
Are our shift boots supposed to have a hole behind the ****. Between the radio and the boot. I test drove an 8 last night and it had a hole in it. I havent checked if mine has it yet but im wondering if thats normal.
Nuts.
I would check to make sure all of your fuel lines and injectors were re-installed properly. If not, then the fuel could be leaking into your engine bay. Which could be very bad.
I would take your car back to the place that did your engine swap and tell them about the problem and make them inspect it. The odds of your fuel level sensor are much lower than a tech screwing up a fuel line during the engine swap.
Also, get it writing that they checked it out and its "ok"

Seriously though, Thanks for the help all.
how "full" should my oil be?
OK so I feel safe to ask this here in the flame free zone...I hope someone will answer for me. I check my oil and it only goes down a tiny bit each tank of gas. I do not want to overfill it and cause some disaster to the engine so I would LOVE to know how to tell how much oil to add and when to add it. (I tried searching-I THINK I saw something about how to read the dipstick but I can not "refind the thread" as it were.
the thread was about some tiny dots on the dipstick relating to the amount of oil (I just remembered this was in maybe my owners manual which I naturally have lost)...
Any thought on what is the safest way to keep my oil level safe for the car?
Cheers,
Yogi
