you'd be surprised.. typical spots on my work truck's windshield looked like it was dried water spots from the rain on the outside... turned out it was just another employee that was eating in the truck.. now i dont know if he had a cup of noodles and sneezed right into it and made it spontaneously combust spewing everywhere onto the windshield, but lets just keep it at gross

If it looks anything like what mine looked like then its definitely going to need some polish to take off. I tried using Windex to clean my cluster and it left a residue on it. It kind of looked like a water streak that had dried. I used some plastic cleaner called Plastix, same stuff I use on my headlights, it worked on taking the smudges off. The plastic on the cluster and the radio are so damn finicky on what it takes to clean em. Best of luck hope it helps

Dunno how idiotic this question is but what gearbox will bolt up to the rx8 bellhousing that has closer gears?

I heard Miata boxes will also along with rx-7 but what about durability?

Is there a thread that explains what each performance modification does? If not, where could I learn?

The new 2009+ rx8 g/box bolts straight up , has closer ratios and is more durable than the old box .

I actually have an FC turbo tranny lying around, this is why I'm curious.

Would I have to get an FC clutch or are the splines the same?

Mod the tranny mount?

is the final drive in the tranny or the diff?( I thought it was the diff)

SO an 09 in a series 1 car should have the same ratios, just better 6th gear for mpg?

Dumb Question: Will you turn a blind eye on people trolling people who are obviously too lazy to search? (outside of this thread)

Those opportunities are just too good to pass up....

What's the cheapest/best/safest way to gain 50hp? I'm not looking for make an rx-8 fast, just not make it not slow on the straights. Should I just go for a turbo and keep the psi low, or is that overkill? It doesn't seem like there's much else to do besides drop weight and get rid of the cat.

Are there any other good hp options that give you slightly less? It seems like everything else is pretty much tuned to max potential, but this website advertises ~37hp for $2k, which I'm a little suspicious of.

http://www.shaneracing.com/RX8_Perfo...ine_Parts.html

Still, if I could spend $4-6k on exhaust, intake, misc stuff, suspension, lighter rims, do you think it'd be a faster track day car than the $6k or so spent on the turbo? I'd prefer that route since I could buy parts bit by bit.

dont bet on it...not even close to +37hp
that kit isnt worth the money anyway
difference in the G3 and G4 is TurboXS exhaust which only costs $500...price jumped $700
midpipe and AP ~$900 are your best bets for the price and thats only 15hp MAYBE
pretty much turbo or nothing
pulleys and CAI dont make much difference if any
lighter wheels and flywheel help some

handling is this car's key to success
sway bars, struts, endlinks, good spring/shock kit if you wanna go that route

Really Todd, you wouldn't recommend nitrous for the simplest, cheapest, safest 50hp?

You'll get 50 to the crank and maybe 35 to the wheels ... but it's hellua easier than a turbo or sc.
