Oooh, shiny!
iTrader: (1)
Final Price: (amount financed) $28,812.60
Model Year: 2006
Model: MT
Options: Grand Touring package, Whitewater Pearl, Appearance Package, All-weather floor mats, extended to 6 year warranty.
Date of Purchase: November/2006
Location: Ellisville, MO
Interest rate: 9.25% MAC -> refinanced @ 6.49%
New @ 79 miles on the odometer
MSRP: $32,875
How I did it:
$2000 rebate + $1000 rebate financed through MAC. Traded in a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS that was initially offered $4000; for a total of (after rebates) $25875. I had no intention of getting a trade-in value of less than $6000; I still had about $5300 left to pay off the Elantra. I proposed $19000. After waiting for the salesperson to finish consulting with the manager, they came back and offered to meet halfway (slightly in my favor) at $21900, which I accepted (my absolute ceiling was $22500). Of course, whatever amount was bargained down got wrapped into the total trade-in ($7900). I put in a $2000 cash down payment at the end. The damage done after extended warranty, taxes, remaining loan on trade-in, etc. is the final price above.

Nov. 06 I bought a 2007 Rx8 I ended up paying 32k for the car. Payments are way to much but I traded in a 98 eclipse sypder with some problems and got 3500 for it my payments are sky high but im gonna refinance when I graduate in May and have a better job. Basically I know I could have gotten a better deal if I waited until I graduated and had a little better job and all but I wanted the car and I dont mind paying up the *** for it right now its my graduation present to myself!!!

I can't believe you guys paid over 30k for this car. I paid 22k for mine with only 12k on the odometer in perfect condition. I am already regretting not getting the 350Z I would really be kicking myself if I paid 34k!!!!! Are you crazy!!!

Funny because people told me what I paid was a little too much. I still have the sticker from the previous owner and he paid over 30k for mine and he only put 12k on it.

Okay looking to buy and made a deal with an online manager at a local Mazda. 2006 mica grey, 6 speed manual, Grand Touring package, Mazda remote start, Bose sound, rotary accent, cool two tone leather, rear wing and with only 9 miles total for 23,500.... is this a good deal? With tax and other crap.. about 25,300 out the door for in mu opinion a new car. Lets hear some opinions I only have this deal for a couple of days and I'm worried that I could find a better deal if I wait. Also is resale really that bad?

Natasha and Boris, happy new year and merry christmas to you too.
dmsuchy, that seems like a fair deal.
RX26B,
The 350Z has it's faults but being a mundane car is not one of them. I autocross and drag arce with them regularly and they are very capable solid cars.
And yes, my RX8 has been a problem reliability wise. No flooding though believe it or not. I would say though that having a new engine, new heater control module, new starter, new gas tank, four visors, and two tail lights all before the 28k mark is definately a problem. Normally I would say that I just got a lemon except for the fact that most of the guys in the club have had the same exact issues. Facts are facts. The RX8 will have very shitty resale so most of the people that paid near sticker for the RX8 will be upside down after the financing term. Don't feel bad if you paid way too much for your car.
Don't get me wrong, I love my RX8 for what its is (great autox car and good daily driver) but having all of the reliabilty issues makes me not trust the car a 100% and therfore I will not let it be my sons first car. If I had paid over 30k for the car I would really be sad.

I disagree that most folks have had these problems. I have had a sun visor break, and I will be going in for a fogged tail lamp and that is the list for 2 years ownership.
If the 8 was as bad and you make it out to be consumer reports would be all over it, much less the report here being only 1% of the engines have been replaced.
I guess they made your car on Friday. They have friday in Japan, right?

I found a used '06 RX8 with 12k miles for 23,800 before tt&l. Grand Touring, appearance package, and spoiler. This seems like a fair price to me. Not a steal, but an ok deal. Do you guys think this is a good deal?
#197
I'm pretty sure they just say they'll give you 5,000 off to make you want to buy it more. I saw an add for gateway mazda saying 5000 off of any mazda for any trade in. Yet a month before I traded in my black bmw 540i and only got 1000 for it, but also got 4000 off for whatever reason.
#198
I saw an ad for $6,000 off 2006 RX8s. I was pretty excited, and they said they could transfer one from another city. But when it came to price, they said the $6,000 was only on in stock models. BS! They wanted to charge me $27.3k before TTL for an '06 GT.
