No. Vancouver. Mazda wholesale price via 'special connection'. Cash purchase. No MS stuff I'm afraid. But not bothered at this price.

Just purchased a 2006 MT Sunlight Silver GT, brand spanking new!

Final Price: $24,300 (26152.25 OTD)
MSRP: $31,505
Model Year: 2006
Model (AT/MT): MT
Options: Grand Touring package, black leather interior
Date of purchase (month/year): 05/07
Location (city/state): Minneapolis, MN
Financed/Cash purchase: Financed all but $500
Interest rate (if relevant): MAC 8.9% (refinancing as soon as the title arrives)
New/Used: New 61 miles

How: Nothing really - dealer had advertised the car for $24999, negotiated another $700 off. I don't care that other people are getting better deals (some of which are just plain ridiculous prices)... it was the exact car I wanted and so I went for it.

Love, love, LOVE IT!

I think that I got lucky because there are few 2006 models remaining. I guess if you wait long enough, prices on previous years drop enough that if you're flexible on configuration, you can get a decent price.

I just think it's funny - a different dealership in the same city wouldn't go below $24,500 for a 2006 Touring package RX-8 that was a 6-month-old demo model with 2,500 hard miles on it.

Good deal!

MSRP $32,900
128 miles, $29,143 off the lot, after TTL, gap insurance & extended warranty added.
bought july/06 manuf. date march 06
How did I do it? Traded in my perfect Black on black leather 05 mustang GT w/ 20K miles on it, Insisted they pay that off owed $23,800. Told me I needed $500.00 down anyway. I looked at my hubby and told him" lets go get the Z4 instead"..

Full finance through MAC @ 5.5%. Red heads can be tough cookies at times!

well my lease is up in august on my current 8, so I worked out a deal where the dealer is paying my last 2 lease payments and got the following car:

2006 RX-8 6-Speed
WHITEWATER PEARL MICA
BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR
GRAND TOURING PKG M/T $4,510
NAVIGATION SYSTEM $2,000
Total MSRP:
$33,705*

FINAL PRICE NEGOTIATED: $27,250

I guess taking $6500 off the price is about average, especially when they are paying my remaining lease payments that amount to another $900.

Talking Whoa guess I got a deal...

Well I've been in the car business a long time, so I got a really good deal. I actually work at a GM dealership (GMC, Cad, Buick, Pontiac) and see what happens with the sales tower every day. People come into our place and drop $113k on an XLR-V or $70k on an Escalade one week, then I see (or hear) what we give others for the same vehicle on trade-in later. Scary.

I've known the general sales manager of the Mazda dealer for about 10 years, so he sold the car to me for $1000 over cost, or what they were in the car.

They were in it $17,300.

2004 RX-8 GT-A with everything, including nav, appearance package, etc.
Plus some mods. 34k miles. 72 month/100,000 mile extended warranty from Mazda transferred from previous owner plus balance of factory power train coverage.

Half down, 4% apr, so $309/36 months.

Good deal, no?

Now to deal with the 15mpg.

-D

Sounds like a fair deal, the GT's are nice, I drove that black one, in fact I drove five of the new RX-8s they had on the lot, that black automatic 07' they had on the lto felt really sluggish and "off" to me, I am not used to driving automatics but I thought I should take it for a spin just to see and play wiht the sequential shifter.

I had to drive down from Chattanooga, I have a buddy that bought a Mazda3 5-door and an MPV from Epperson, no real problems, I just wasn't getting any sort of deal from Epperson and had a little more luck out of Prebul. (And frankly, I loath the drive to Cleveland I'd rather drive to Dalton. I wasn't too impressed with their Kia oriented sales force at Prebul, they couldn't answer basic questions about the RX-8, but what are you gonna do, I wanted the car, not a date, I know how to read and did my research independent of what the salesmen were going to lie to me about anyhow.
