hey question about the audio set up with the bose amp. when I go to convert the speaker wire to the RCA plugs do you mean just splice into the wiring harness and then connect the rca to the head unit?

Hey I have a question about the RX8 Head unit. Is it possible to Mod the stock head unit to accomadate an after market stereo?
Im on a tight budget but my buddy hooked me up with his old sub and amp. The metra kit is pretty expensive on top of a decent stereo, So do you think its possible?

I did play with some things over those months though. Mostly HV stuff, Jacob's ladders, Marx generators, makeshift MOT welders etc. And I've been trying to collect parts to build a fully capable serious welding power supply. I've got bits and pieces, including two 3kVA trafo's But I need to look into what they are capable of as I want a single unit capable of pulsed spray MiG operation, as well as TiG welding. I want to be able to switch out the working ends and use the same supply, but it will need to be quite variable to do all the things I want from it. Constant voltage, or constant current operation, as well as wide frequency range(where my current trafo's may not suffice) and a hefty duty cycle. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll have to power it with a generator as I cant get the appropriate power drop put in the house since I get moved so often.

i was just lookng at my user profile for the first time in ages, saw the previous msgs here... man thats been months and I havent touched that idea yet. But now, I am laid up at home in TN for a couple months, and though I can't even breadboard anything here, I am considering designing components essential for a laser harp and running them through simulators. Depending on how my recovery goes once I'm backin Belgium, I may really take a stab at this. I just cannot quite decide with certainty that I want to get into PIC stuff just yet, but doing without will prove magnitudes more complex...

cool if i go through with it this should be fun. i understand a lot of the basic principles, and seemed to pick up on it easily when i was learning. i've built a few simpler things before; adj power supply, couple of edge triggering projects that are going in the car, and lots of breadboards. i also found a GREAT group of guys months back at www.dutchforce.com they've hepled me with a few things, including schematics for a dual rail power supply, -30V, 30V. adjustable volatage at the mV scale, adjustable current at the mA scale, digital gauges on each rail for voltage and amperage, and a max load 10A @ 30(-30)V

hey.... how deep into electronics do you go? just audio? or a bit further?

I'm thinking of trying to build a laser harp :D
